Who you are:

You are highly motivated, extremely organized, process-focused and interested in working with a team that’s driving initiatives to support research and development for Dataminr. You love conducting research and annotation projects and developing/implementing inspection activities, ensuring the end product matches Dataminr’s quality standards. You are comfortable making sense of large amounts of data. You are highly analytical, detail oriented and strong at prioritizing your work. You take the initiative to own projects and deliver results with the goal to make the organization more successful. You will work with a cross-functional team across several departments to solve challenging problems and to contribute to developing and improving the capabilities of Dataminr’s AI platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Help to manage day-to-day work of the research team(s), reporting to the R&D Program Manager.
  • Support planning, assignment and progress tracking of R&D team’s tasks.
  • Coordinate aspects of training the team of researchers on new types of projects, including rollout of new initiatives.
  • Facilitate program success through performance tracking, quality assurance and implementation and utilization of feedback loops.
  • Work cross functionally to drive efficient and priority-driven operations.
  • Be self-driven with proven technical abilities, strong sense of teamwork, and willingness to roll up their sleeves and get work done

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience or training in project management or operations management
  • Excellent cross-functional and relationship-building skills
  • Great understanding of both social media and publicly available data
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly organized with demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience or willingness to learn how to present to multiple levels of an organization
  • Strong understanding of Google Sheets
  • Strong understanding of Google Slides (ability to build concise and visually strong decks for executive-level presentations)
  • Experience in using Looker and BigQuery a plus, but not required
