Job Description

L'ingénieur logiciel développe les applications logicielles, afin d’adhérer au modèle respectant les conceptions répondant aux exigences commerciales internes ou aux clients externes. Il standardise la procédure d'assurance qualité pour les logiciels. Il supervise les tests et développe des correctifs. Il a une connaissance des concepts, pratiques et procédures standard, dans un domaine particulier. S'appuie sur son expérience et son jugement pour planifier et atteindre ses objectifs. Collabore et exerce des revues de code avec ses pairs. Un large degré de créativité et de latitude est requis. L'ingénieur sera membre d'une petite équipe de développement de projets et des applications sophistiquées à l'échelle de l'entreprise. L'équipe de développement adhère aux principes de développement logiciel agile à toutes les phases du processus de développement logiciel. L'ingénieur contribue principalement par son expertise en programmation, mais il doit faire partie intégrante de toutes les activités de l'équipe.   • Responsable de l'analyse des programmes actuels, y compris la performance, le diagnostic et le dépannage.
  • Il est responsable de l'élaboration de nouveaux programmes et de la vérification du programme, afin d'apporter les changements nécessaires pour assurer la production d'un produit de qualité, ainsi que de l'analyse des programmes et des processus actuels et de la formulation de recommandations visant à obtenir un produit plus rentable.
  • Rédiger, éditer et déboguer de nouveaux programmes informatiques pour les projets assignés.
  • Examiner et réparer le code hérité.
  • Tester les nouveaux programmes pour s'assurer que la logique et la syntaxe sont correctes, et que les résultats du programme sont précis.
  • Documenter le code de manière cohérente tout au long du processus de développement en répertoriant une description du programme, des instructions spéciales et toute modification apportée aux tables de la base de données au niveau procédural, modulaire et de la base de données.

ENGLISH

The Software Engineer codes software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers. Standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and develops fixes. Has knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Collaborates and exercises code reviews with peers. A wide degree of creativity and latitude required. The engineer will be a member of a small project team that develops sophisticated enterprise wide applications. The development team adheres to agile software development principles throughout all phases of the software development process. The engineer contributes primarily through programming expertise but is expected to be an integral part of all team activities. Additionally, the engineer is expected to work with developers from other development teams to ensure continuity and leveragability of architecture and design.

Leadership

  • Provides technical assistance and coaching to lower level developers to ensure that they follow the appropriate technical/process standards and that previous lessons learned are leveraged by current projects.

Architecture

  • Work with developers from other development teams to ensure continuity and leveragability of architecture and design.

Software Development

  • Adhere to agile software development principles throughout all phases of the software development process – gathering and reviewing user requirements, database and application design, coding, testing, installation and maintenance, internal and external customer training and product rollout.
  • Expected to conduct system analysis and development, to keep systems current with changing technologies.
  • Responsible for analysis of current programs including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for developing new programs and proofing the program to develop needed changes to assure production of a quality product in addition to analysis of current programs and processes and making recommendations which yield a more cost-effective product.
  • Writes, edits, and debugs new computer programs for assigned projects
  • Review and repair legacy code.
  • Tests new programs to ensure that logic and syntax are correct, and that program results are accurate.
  • Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made in database tables on procedural, modular and database level.

Customer Orientation

  • Respond promptly and professionally to bug reports.
  • Promote customer services according to company standard.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.
  • Effectively communicate technical and business ideas and information to others, including non-technical staff. Ask and respond to both technical and non-technical questions. Easily understood by others in normal conversation.

Qualifications

  • Baccalauréat ou maîtrise en gestion de l'information ou en informatique avec 3+ ans d'expérience en tant qu'ingénieur logiciel.
  • Solide connaissance des langages de programmation orientés objet tels que C#, ABAP-OO ou Java.
  • Expérience avec les SGBDR (SQL Server/Aurora, Oracle), les architectures SOA/microservices requise ; expérience avec les bases de données non-SQL (Dynamo) est un plus.
  • Connaissance des techniques de génie logiciel agile telle que Scrum et Kanban.
  • Une expérience de l'environnement AWS Serverless (Lambda) est un atout.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Information Management or Computer Science with 3+ years of experience as Software Engineering
  • Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as C#, ABAP-OO or Java
  • Experience with RDBMS (SQL Server/Aurora, Oracle), SOA/microservices architectures is required; experience with non-SQL databases (Dynamo) is a plus
  • Knowledge of Agile Software Engineering techniques like Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience with AWS Serverless (Lambda) environment is a plus
  • Exhibits good judgment and can recommend and produce solid solutions for a wide range of complex problems
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and French and possess a positive attitude
  • Environmental, Health and Safety, Chemistry or Chemical knowledge, a plus
