We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Threat Intelligence team in North America, reporting to the manager of Software and Applications. In this role, you will design and implement software solutions in Python for local and cloud-based infrastructure. Development might include expansion into Spark and Delta Lake for large-scale data engineering and analytics. You will work closely with analysts and researchers to gather requirements and build the tools they need to effectively research, analyze, and catalog cyber security threats. As part of this composite team, you will help build the content for our security products and protect customers around the world.

You’re the ideal candidate if you are a great collaborator, can operate independently, and are willing to learn not just about the tech stack, but also about the ever-changing threat landscape.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, build, and implement applications enabling threat research and investigation
  • Convert high-level concepts into actionable user stories with point estimates
  • Automate and simplify manual processes for analysts
  • Write clean, testable code
  • Create test plans and test cases and run tests with automated tools
  • Investigate, debug, and fix issues in dev and production environments
  • Develop technical documentation

What you’ll bring:

  • BA/BS in computer science
  • 4+ years post-graduate experience with an object-oriented language (Python preferred)
  • Experience with Git
  • Strong emphasis on code quality and unit testing
  • Knowledge of AWS (or other cloud platforms)
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with RESTful architecture
  • Good verbal and written communication skills enabling you to lead meetings, gather requirements, and document everything

What success looks like:

After six months, you will...

  • Learn best practices in software engineering
  • Learn the basics of backend infrastructure we use
  • Contribute to multiple Threat Intelligence products
  • Be knowledgeable about all the Threat Intelligence products and how they relate to core Infoblox products

After about a year, you will...

  • Have in-depth knowledge of our backend infrastructure
  • Lead new projects from start to finish
  • Review and provide feedback on code changes from others in the team

We’ve got you covered:
