You Are: A content subject matter expert who can create a strategy and tactical implementation plan, and manage the plan’s execution independently. This will involve managing and collaborating with a small internal team, and possibly working with an external agency. You’re an experienced writer/editor who can adopt Wave’s specific voice and create compelling content to be delivered or adapted to various formats and mediums. You can think fast and turn copy around quickly when needed, as well as plan out and follow a strategic calendar to drive business metrics. You’re great in any medium, and you’re especially brilliant with digital channels.
Here's how you'll make an impact:
- Be accountable for all content marketing initiatives to drive results throughout all points of the marketing funnel, including but not limited to direct response, customer acquisition, conversion, and overall funnel optimization.
- Work seamlessly with a lean team of marketing professionals (designers, developers, product marketers, demand gen experts, etc).
- Build relationships and collaborate across key departments (product, CX, customer research and Wave Advisors) to deliver an effective content marketing strategy and editorial plan to meet the business objectives at the lowest possible cost.
- Create engaging content that’s accessible, compelling, honest, and effective at engaging readers, changing behaviours and driving brand awareness.
- Play a vital role in building Wave’s brand presence with small business owners and across the Fintech industry.
- Lead always-on optimization of Wave’s key content channels (primarily our website landing pages, blog posts and Freelance Hub, emails, and YouTube account).
These will help you be successful:
- 4-6+ years’ experience as a content marketer with a demonstrated understanding of B2B marketing/communications strategy; SaaS experience and experience writing for a small business audience is a bonus.
- Demonstrated versatility writing and editing to adapt to a particular brand voice.
- Good judgment when it comes to prioritizing multiple marketing tasks.
- The ability to work independently, with and without detailed briefs and notes; you’re great either way.
- Your copy is impeccable, but you don’t mind dangling a participle in pursuit of natural, approachable language.
- A well-rounded writer/editor’s toolkit; you can research topics, interview subject matter experts, and translate the technical into something accessible; you can assign projects when needed and coax excellence from contributors.
- Editorial requirements include a basic understanding of SEO, content categorization and structure, content development, distribution, and measurement. Development of editorial governance so content is consistent with brand voice and tone.
- Time and project management skills.
- Ability to analyze traffic, conversion, engagement and present content and social performance to non-experts.
- Experience with CMS systems, (Google) analytics, social media channels, video, and long-form/blog content.
