Purpose of the Role:

This position involves working as part of the AP PreSales team.

The Electronics and Semiconductor industry has witnessed a rapid flux in the past few years, influenced by several digitalised processes. Due to this, the industry must be further prepared for instant demand / increased product complexity and disruptive innovation. This has created the need for companies to meet fast-changing business models and industry complexity with customizable, flexible, and highly adaptable applications and solutions.

Siemens provides business solutions for the electronics and semiconductor industries built on the Xcelerator portfolio. These solutions are necessary for companies of all sizes and types to support product development from concept through manufacturing, including the supply chain ecosystem.

The AP Presales organisation is looking for an Electronics and Semiconductor Presales Account Development Specialist to support the AP sales organisations. Understanding, assessing, and selling the key elements of Electronics Systems Design, New Product Introduction (NPI), Supplier Collaboration and Smart Manufacturing Campaigns is imperative.

The Presales Account Development Specialist is part of the AP Presales organisation and will assist the account teams in defining the Value Proposition for a Digital Enterprise and Industry 4.0 vision of our customers processes.

The Presales Account Development Specialist will support account teams in structuring the engagement, leveraging Siemens good practices (SVS, Challenger Sales, Prescriptive Framework, Advantedge...) taking into account all aspects of a pursuit: customer relation, engagement staffing, realizable roadmap with end-to-end enterprise architecture, program setup, alignment with Product Development, etc.

As customers mature, they look for comprehensive solutions aligned with their specific business needs. By providing Industry expertise, the Presales Account Development Specialist builds trust with the customer.

As a Presales Account Development Specialist, you are expected to work closely with account teams, to ensure engagements success, by bringing your industry expertise, your broad understanding of our Electronics and Semiconductor portfolio, your experience in complex pursuits and your leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Support on-going sales cycles while demonstrating a deep understanding of the industry needs and our industry value proposition, including Industry related Campaigns.
  • Support the AP GSCS organisation in selling our solutions into our target accounts. This is accomplished through structuring the engagement, by understanding and implementing industry related GTM campaigns, by defining a holistic Value Proposition, by addressing all aspects of the engagement and by building trust with the customer.
  • Produce quality content reusable in all engagements across AP.
  • Facilitate collaboration across country/cultural boundaries/departments
  • Become an industry focal point by collecting and sharing industry knowledge with the different country teams. Additionally, collaborate with zone Portfolio Development team and the segment.
  • Analyse our strengths and weaknesses against our competitors in the targeted industry.
  • Participate in country / zone events to promote the Siemens good practices from real world experience, in particular how & when to use Industry related Industry Campaigns.
  • This position has no direct reports or people management responsibility but has the responsibility to bring together the virtual team of electronics and semiconductor experts across zone.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Accreditations

Essential

  • A degree in an Engineering subject (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical)
Desirable
  • Engineering with MBA or similar Business Qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Primary industry experience in Electronics & Semiconductor, secondary experience in Aerospace & Automotive (EV & Autonomous vehicles in particular) Industry.
  • evelopment activities
  • Ability to understand, position and present the value of end-to-end close loop engineering to manufacturing solutions in the context of Industry 4.0 (connected devices & machines) for Electronics & Semiconductor industry.
  • Drive engagements in Electronics & Semiconductor industry with value proposition and process-based demonstrations
  • Experience with CXO level discussions, and specifically with the CTO and/or COO
  • Minimum of 10+ years expertise for technical acumen.

Desirable

  • Sales, PreSales or Services experience with an IT vendor
  • Enterprise Architecture definition including ECAD/ MCAD and interface with other Enterprise solutions.
  • Experience in value quantification and ROI calculation
  • Knowledgeable on competitive landscape

Technical

Essential

· Strong experience in ECAD and engineering & automation systems.

· Good Knowledge of all or part of Electronics and Semiconductor Portfolio or comparable business process knowledge

· Understand how to leverage industry related Marketing Campaigns

Desirable

· Experience with Siemens EDA (formerly Mentor Graphics) portfolio
