Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for executing trade marketing strategies and retail activations that drives sales & market share for MAC’s retail channels, inclusive of MAC, Sephora, HBC and Nordstrom.
The Assistant Manager works alongside the Marketing Director, and in close collaboration with sales, retail partners and retail.com marketing manager to ensure flawless execution of MAC’s omni channel strategy and deliver the best experience to consumers. The Assistant Manager is responsible for executing marketing campaigns to specific channel needs, ensuring all campaigns are executed flawlessly and on time.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Instore Retail Marketing, Promotions, Field and Eventing
Retail Marketing
- Support marketing director on annual planning, launch support, seasonal changes, and activation/promotional calendars/memos
- Collaborate with cross functional team to develop strategies, sales plans, and execution tactics for in store for each channel in line with brand priorities
- Manage a robust marketing program that supports new launches, core business categories and retail exclusives
- Lead communication and project management of all marketing components for retail partners from planning through to execution
- Own creative briefs and adaptations for marketing needs
- Manage the delivery and execution of all in-store elements of co-op programming
- Work closely with Visual Merchandising to plan and execute merchandising/visual priorities to support all exclusive programs including but not limited to: calendarization, creative request submissions, status meetings, routing for feedback and approval
- Partner with Sales Director and retail.com Manager in the creation of an integrated, Omni channel marketing strategy to drive awareness and engagement while maximizing ROI
- Using insights into consumers’ profile and behaviours define a compelling marketing strategy within their accounts to increase consumers’ engagement and conversion
- Lead the execution of new door and counter openings across the estate driving awareness and buzz within local area ensuring sales goals are achieved
- Partner with Sales Director to ensure optimal productivity of gondolas of all respective retailers, and evaluate retail sales impact of discontinued skus
- Contribute to 360 planning of new product launches
Promotions, GWPs, and Sampling
- Develop, execute, and analyze account specific promotions, GWPs, PWPs, and sampling programs to drive trial and conversion while protecting the brand’s equity
- Own forecasting, planning, processing, and execution of GWPs and sampling programs
- Analyze program performance to deliver both quantitative and qualitative feedback measuring ROI for future programs and enhancements
- Provide clear and insightful analysis of product and category performance – contributing to MOB and NPD results monthly
Field Engagement & Eventing
- Partner with Field Directors on communications to the field, coordinate, and support clientelling needs, and guidance on launches
- Develop and execute events/programs to engage BA’s to promote morale and advocacy of MAC
- Drive an efficient retail event strategy anchored around: consumer engagement, sales activation, and brand equity building
QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree preferred
- Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience
- Strategic mindset with excellent quantitative, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Flexible and able to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong relationship builder
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across cross functional teams
- Project management skills including scheduling and timelines, budgeting, and communications
- Creative, innovative, and resourceful
- Experience working with Canadian retailers is an asset
- Beauty industry experience an asset
- Bilingual candidates an asset
