What you’ll be doing...

You will be part of a World Class Container Platform team that builds and operates highly scalable Kubernetes based container platforms at a large scale for Global Technology Solutions at Verizon, a top 20 Fortune 500 company. This individual will have a high level of technical expertise and be hands-on as part of the product team that is involved in engineering and enabling new products and services. This entitles programming and orchestrating the deployment of feature sets into the Kubernetes CaaS platform along with building Docker containers via a fully automated CI/CD pipeline utilizing AWS, Jenkins Ansible playbooks, AWS, CI/CD tools and process ( Jenkins, JIRA, GitLab), Python, Shell Scripts or any other scripting technologies
You will have autonomous control over researching and doing POCs on new services and products. This individual will lead design, architecture and problem resolution for business impacting failures and drive the resolution to meet platform service level objectives.

• Utilizingdifferent components of a container platform like, Logging, Monitoring, Security and SRE practices.
• Responsible to provide technical guidance to the product engineering team, including architecture, design, development and end user support.
• Evaluating new services and solutions to determine value within Verizon.
• Analyzing new product opportunities/technologies and makes appropriate suggestions for the enhancement of the platform.
• Performing POC(Proof of Concept) technical evaluations for new technologies for use in the cloud.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Sixor more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience of two or more years in Container orchestration automation.
• Strong experience in automating the platform with Ansible playbooks, CI/CD tools and process ( Jenkins, JIRA, GitLab), Python, Shell Scripts or any other scripting technologies.
• Vast experience in building applications using Docker & Kubernetes or managing Kubernetes platform at an enterprise level.
• Experience in building cloud native applications or migrating legacy applications to the cloud (AWS, OCI or GCP).
• Sound knowledge in Open Policy Agent, Flux and other cloud native tools.

Even better if you have:

• Experience in container security scanning products.
• Experience in building high-performance container platforms/products/applications that are scalable and resilient across hybrid container platforms(Cloud Native K8s, EKS or Openshift)
• Exposure to different components of a container platform like, Logging, Monitoring, Security and SRE practices.
• Excellent debugging skills and a flair to work with application teams.
• AWS and CKA certifications.
• Strong knowledge in DevOps tools and processes.
• Excellent communication skills.
