What you'll do

• Own security compliance initiatives including SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, ISO27001 and Privacy Shield. Perform gap assessments against these frameworks for new products, tools, and technologies and planning and executing regular internal audits.
• Maintain compliance documentation, including audit evidence, controls, and vendor security reviews.
• Support our sales and success teams and work directly with our customers to address security and data privacy policies.
• Lead the team to create customer collateral to educate internal staff and aid in the sales process
• Work with our IT team to ensure Mode’s business systems are secure, and our Security Engineering team to prioritize customer security requirements.
• Work with third party security vendors and researchers to complete routine audits and evaluate security gaps.
• Build cross-functional and collaborative relationships with stakeholders across Mode to define and implement security and compliance policies and processes.
• Monitor the performance of the compliance program through the development of and maintenance of automated systems.

What we look for

• Prior experience creating and implementing company-wide security compliance policies
• Analytical mindset and a strong focus on business outcomes
• Functional knowledge of multiple security domains and information security industry standards and best practices
• Experience leading 3rd party risk management programs, including responding to customer security questionnaires, interacting directly with customer sales and security teams, and reviewing vendor security
• Solid experience managing compliance initiatives for cloud platforms and interacting with external auditors
• High degree of empathy and concern for team and individual outcomes
• Preference for fast-paced environments with tight feedback loops and continuous delivery
