You will be operating as a cross-functional domain leader responsible for scaling one of the organization's most critical service lines. We are looking for someone that brings together a deep passion and experience for providing a high quality customer experience with the ability to think critically about systems and processes to support scale. You’ll do this while looking across the customer value chain to recommend and implement process improvements and product enhancements towards scale, efficiency and accuracy. This role will have a significant impact on the business, students and our partners given the critical nature of our payment flows.

As VP Payment Operations, you will:

  • Build the team and skills vital to support long-term growth and to meet the needs of our payment stakeholders
  • Collaborate with partners externally and internally to develop a cohesive payment strategy across payment modes
  • Partner with Payment Product to develop our money movement strategy end to end up and ensure it is operationally sound and scalable
  • Support operational excellence by demonstrating industry knowledge, experience, and best practices to deliver on our critical payment flows
  • Work with Guild’s leadership team to determine broader organizational direction and priority
  • Prioritize system, process, product and operational improvements
  • Develop and maintain a control environment that is SOC 1 and SOC 2 compliant and results in accurate and timely data and dollar flows across our payment marketplace
  • Set service standards, define critical metrics, and ensure team and individual success
  • Analyze data to derive internal and external insights

You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • We are seeking an experienced and forward thinking executive with operational experience and a proven track record of creative problem-solving and change management
  • 15+ years of experience in a critical operations function with 4+ years in a finance / payment operations leadership role
  • Experience building High-Impact Teams with impeccable business judgment
  • Experience scaling teams, processes, and systems in a fast growing environment
  • Demonstrated experience driving measurable operational improvements and efficiencies in processes and systems
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with various senior collaborators (e.g. Product, Technology, Analytics, Accounting / Finance, Compliance, Legal)
  • Ability to pivot between high-level strategy and visioning as well as operational execution
  • Strong prioritization and bias for action with the ability to use data, insights, and information to drive concrete results that move the needle for the organization
  • Excellent people leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive strategic direction while also allowing for individual autonomy and accountability

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $240,000 - $285,000 , as well as company stock options.
