About the job

This position is needed to help our customers understand and manage the state of their messages through our system. Our Messaging Pipeline delivers a tremendous amount of messages per hour. Helping our customers manage the journey of these messages through our systems and giving them insights into their delivery is crucial to their success and ours.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

• Collaborate and brainstorm product ideas with product managers, design, and engineers.
• Build highly scalable and available services
• Build REST APIs and Event based systems used by all Twilio customers
• Constantly improve services that power Twilio’s top products and also generate significant revenue
• Truly own the product you work on. Be responsible for SLA, oncall, incident resolution, customer feedback and participate in blameless post-mortems to make our products better.
• Demonstrate strong engagement in the team setting

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of Software development experience.
• Experience managing large database clusters (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL), and next generation distributed key value stores (e.g., Redis, DynamoDB).
• Experience designing and developing horizontally-scalable and resilient systems.

Desired:

• 3+ years of experience with complex distributed systems, working in a Java development environment.
• Expertise with scalable data pipelines (Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ).

Location

This role will be based in our Bogota, Colombia office.
