This job contributes to REI’s success by managing the construction of new stores. Ensures cost, quality, scope and timing of the projects are effectively managed. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.
Your Planning & Navigating Requirements (the plans the job is responsible for creating and executing, and how the job ensures they are implemented)
- Reviews design feasibilities and proformas.
- Provides landlords with clear written direction and clarifications on scope and schedule requirements.
- Manages store construction projects including estimating, bidding, scheduling, monitoring, plan checking, criteria and lease reviews, and performing final punch list.
- Coordinates closely with the Physical Design and Experiences team supporting the Real Estate Executive Approval Committee (EAC) process through preliminary site cost and constructability evaluation.
- Effectively manages the selection of contractors procuring owner provided materials and services, assisting in obtaining approvals and permits, fixture set-up and turnover to store operations.
- Manages individual store budgets for new stores of approximately $4.2 M x 7-10 stores annually.
- Manages capital projects budgets and general contractors between $300K-$1M+
- Directly supports the Real Estate Store Development annual planning process (schedule and resources) for the construction of new stores.
- Supports major department initiatives, such as prototype development, process improvement and asset management.
- Supports, and at times leads, Retail capital projects.

Bring your passion and expertise
- 5+ years retail/ commercial construction project management experience, including experience with new building construction and a PPM, CCM or CPC license
- College degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field
- Intermediate experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, CAD, SAP and other web-based tools
- Current driver’s license
- Ability to travel up to 30%-50% of the time

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be lower or higher in different markets.
$65,000 to $127,500 per year
