Position Description:

Cvent is a leading cloud-based enterprise event management platform that offers software solutions to event planners for online event registration, venue selection, event management, mobile apps for events, e-mail marketing and web surveys. Our solutions optimize the entire event management value chain and have enabled clients around the world to manage hundreds of thousands of meetings and events.

Cvent is looking for a Product Manager to join our rapidly growing company. As a Product Manager, you will manage the vision and definition of the product roadmap. You will lead cross functional teams to execute projects while demonstrating sound judgment, critical and analytical thinking skills, leadership, and a sense of urgency. Fostering a team environment of shared ownership and being able to drive decisions effectively within the technology and business teams is essential.

With a close partnership with the Cvent User Experience team, and your own experience working closely with UX professionals, you will lead product teams that are building graphical products that are leveraged across the entire Cvent platform, as well as end user products leveraged by Cvent’s customers.

The scope of responsibility includes:

  • Develop and evangelize product strategy
  • Support the product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Partner with systems analysts and project managers on needs analysis, business requirements documents, business process flow diagrams
  • Work with development on product requirement clarifications and definitions
  • Escalation point and decision maker regarding business rules or clarifications during development and certification cycles
  • Monitor development, testing and deployment to ensure product adherence to original specifications and successful deployment
  • Act as a liaison between product end user communities (internal and external users), business partners, and the technology team
  • Proactively manage and balance multiple stakeholders expectations regarding feature request prioritization and deployment
  • Participate in release meetings with senior management, providing insight and business perspective for new features
  • Communicate and provide training on new product enhancements
  • Support sales efforts with participation in prospective client/partner meetings as required
  • Lead competitive analysis efforts as it relates to marketing, sales and product strategy
  • Develop and maintain a keen understanding of competitive products and offerings
  • Participate in market and industry research to keep abreast of event planning and meetings management, applying market intelligence findings into product features and enhancements
  • Manage vendor relationships as required
  • Create business requirements documentation

Skills/Qualifications we are seeking :

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent major with strong academic performance
  • 7+ years of product management experience in enterprise applications
  • Solid understanding of relational & document-oriented databases, the Software Development Life Cycle and the design of modern, web based User Interfaces
  • Proven ability to interact and collaborate across the organization, including working closely with marketing, sales, professional services and customer support
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to drive clarity and precision in product requirements
  • Highly detail oriented and analytic skills required
  • Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks, while driving results
