Principal, Product Management (Privacy)

The Principal, Product Management (Privacy) is a member of the Product Management team. In this role, you will have a leadership position in formulating and advancing our privacy program leveraged across all Cvent product lines, working directly with technical, product, legal, and compliance stakeholders. You must be a self-motivated team player with a passion for privacy, and a drive to see results. In this role, you will operationalize privacy priorities by introducing best practices, guiding product teams toward best solutions, evangelizing privacy concerns and being a subject matter expert. You’ll team up with our legal team to define standards, and work across the technology team to ensure those standards are understood, implemented, maintained and certified.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead cross-functional projects related to data governance, data protection and privacy by design
  • Evaluate the applicability of privacy laws and regulatory guidance on product features
  • Develop and iterate on privacy-related notices, policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Define product requirements to be implemented by relevant products
  • Develop processes to scale efficiencies and privacy controls
  • Evangelize privacy concerns across all departments of Cvent
  • Speak with customers about Cvent’s privacy practices and standards
  • Work closely with product leaders and data experts to hone our privacy practices

What You Need For This Position:

  • 5+ years of substantive privacy experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with engineering teams in a software company
  • 5+ years driving cross-functional projects in a complex organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of current web development processes and web development technologies
  • Demonstrated interest in and work with U.S. and international privacy and data protection laws, regulations and standards, and their applicability to cloud-based software systems, with experience working with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Consumer Data Protection Act (CDPA).
  • Preference given to candidates with an IAPP/CIPT certification
  • Experience problem solving with and presenting to organizational leaders
