GoDaddy is looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to join our Product Frameworks engineering team. The team is responsible for building & maintaining Gasket, our open-source framework engine (www.github.com/godaddy/gasket), and the in-house presets for web-apps, APIs, and white-label storefronts. Hundreds of front-end engineers across all of GoDaddy's product teams use these technologies every day to help our small business customers start, grow, and run their ventures. Location: This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. Once we can safely travel, you may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or offsites.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

The development stack spans both Web (React) & Server (Node.js) development along with other current front-end and back-end technologies including ES2019+, Webpack, and AWS.

We manage a growing base of contributors from other teams at GoDaddy on our JavaScript platform resources, both through our "internal open-source" model, and as active participants in the wider open-source community. We contribute code and our takeaways (good and bad) back to the Open Source community (Check our GitHub page: http://github.com/godaddy). You will have the opportunity to help make more of our work Open Source and work with the community to help foster its success.

What you'll get to do...

• Lead your team of high-performing engineers by providing both career mentorship and technical vision for the product.
• Drive design and development of globally distributed services to power next generation customer experiences.
• Design resilient and redundant services to maintain high availability and performance.
• Perform code reviews and participate in suggesting and supporting coding best practices.
• Participate in Devops, release and on-call activities in support of the platform.
• Engage with engineers & partners across GoDaddy to solve problems with broad impact (from group-wide to company-wide impact).
• Participate in ensuring a high quality and performant system that engages and delights customers.
• Build and maintain the Gasket feature set, including integrating contributions from internal stakeholders and open-source contributors.

Your experience should include...

• Experience leading a high-functioning team of engineers that delivers scalable cloud experiences on web platforms.
• You are a highly motivated, highly collaborative individual.
• Passion to develop elegant yet pragmatic solutions to solve real-world business scenarios.
• Strong desire to learn and to grow and to mentor engineers to do the same.
• Experience in an Agile software development environment.
• You have a strong understanding of git and git-based workflows. Experience maintaining Open Source projects a plus.
• You have experience working with highly agile development teams.
• You can work closely with a team of specialists across disciplines to design and implement very high quality code.
• You enjoy working on leading edge technologies and languages like Node.js,ES2019, React, CloudFormation, and GraphQL.
• You have worked with technologies such as React, Redux, NextJS, or other MV* NodeJS-backed technology stacks.
• 7+ years of industry experience designing, building, and shipping software.
• 3+ years of demonstrated ability as an engineering lead or people manager
