Your Impact:

Handshake is hiring a Student Lifecycle Marketing Operations Manager reporting to the Head of Student Lifecycle Marketing, on the Student Marketing team. In this role you will take ownership of the systems, tools and processes that are central to the effective running of the department to drive the business forward. Working with the Lifecycle marketers and various engineering teams, you will build the team’s ability to deliver meaningful communications to our student audience which drive our business goals. You are a strong mix of technical, analytical and creative.

As the first marketing operations hire on the team you will drive how we format, use and capitalize our treasure trove of data. In this role, you will grow not only the current email centric capabilities of the team but drive implementation of push and SMS to help us become a best in class organization in proactive and relevant communications to our students.

Your Role

  • You will manage our marketing database by
    • Health, hygiene and management of Iterable database
    • Technology and database architecture support
    • Leading ma nagement of all marketing tech stack integrations, field mapping and optimizations of functionalities.
    • Collaborat ing with data engineering to ensure data needed is available to execute lifecycle marketing campaigns and if not partner ing to find solutions to pipe to Iterable
  • You will be our marketing tech leader through
    • Research and suggest ing new tools or channels to optimize LCM performance
    • Implementation and training of other LCM team members on these tools
  • You will own the lifecycle marketing tech roadmap by
    • Owning creation of, management and implementation of our quarterly/yearly lifecycle tech roadmap
    • Writing PRDs for roadmap projects
    • Working with student engineering, data engineering and infrastructure teams to implement quarterly roadmap

Your Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience with 2+ years in customer marketing, marketing operations, marketing automation or CRM; comfortable with automation strategy, segmentation and marketing using digital channels (email, push, SMS, in-app, website, etc.).
  • 2+ years of working directly in an enterprise-grade ESP (preferably Iterable or similar)
  • Strong understanding of CRM databases and related structures including data concepts such as JSON, APIs, ETLs
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS
  • Ability to translate complex data sets into concrete business recommendations, ensuring we have the data that we need in the places that we need it to drive marketing objectives
  • Ability to work with data engineering and data science to clearly express needs and business cases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and results-oriented with a drive to make improvements.
  • Fervent attention to detail and QA process.
