The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager for our Engineering and Programming offerings who is passionate about teaching people to build, deploy, and maintain software - written in any language and using cutting edge tools. You will join a team focused on changing lives by providing educational experiences that enable career changes, delivering on General Assembly’s vision and strategy.

In this role, you’ll work with a team of learning designers, subject matter experts, and cross-functional stakeholders to build hybrid learning experiences that lead to job placements. Tracking the skills and jobs that are in demand by employers, you’ll build a product roadmap that aligns opportunity and strategy. You’ll be comfortable discussing the newest devops tools, tracking the latest in technical interviewing tips, working with data, performing qualitative and quantitative market research, and building business cases.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product P&L for Engineering and Programming; track and improve key metrics such as admissions, cancellations and withdrawals, net promoter scores, and reviews for this family of products
  • Own competitive analysis and positioning within the competitive landscape; contribute to pricing
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future products by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product updates that work regardless of channel (B2C, B2B, B2G)
  • Understand market demand and user needs, and motivate cross-functional product development teams to build and improve GA’s portfolio of best-in-class education products to fulfill those demands and needs
  • Based on user and market research, set product vision, identify product opportunities, then develop them into a 1-year roadmap
  • Create business cases and gain executive approval for new ideas
  • Organize cross-functionally with operations, marketing, admissions, and engineering teams to establish clear business requirements as well as test, iterate, and scale programs globally
  • Ensure product success by developing robust market requirements and go-to-market strategies

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years experience as a Product Manager
  • You’ve done this before - working to deliver successful product improvements that win
  • Experience working face to face with customers and clients in a product management environment building long-standing relationships
  • You are a strategic and effective communicator. You utilize various modalities to inspire, educate, map, influence, and persuade
  • Ability to translate the product vision into action by creating business cases, competitive analysis, product-market fit, and product differentiation analysis
  • Alignment with and passion for GA’s mission to transform our students’ lives through learning and alignment with GA’s Statement of Diversity and Inclusion
  • Ability to work with all levels of management, including executive leadership and manage through influence
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape, and industry players/leaders in the broader context of the product
