Role Overview

This position is for a lead Quality Inspection Technician IV who works under minimal supervision. Responsible for completing Delegated Source Inspection of products prior to shipment to customers. Must be capable of performing inspections in accordance with internal and customer specifications as well as customer Purchase Orders. May serve as an inspection resource in Receiving or Final Inspection.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assure product and documentation are complete and accurate, per customer PO and specification requirements, prior to shipment (over and above Final Inspection of product)
  • Attend Customer Training on a periodic basis and utilize in job function
  • Attend SAE Training on a periodic basis and utilize in job function
  • Review FAIs, created by Customer Quality Engineering group, prior to submittal to Customer
  • Ensure Customers have approved applicable FAIs
  • Ability to work closely with Final Inspection and Leads
  • Work in Customer Portals reviewing customer POs, Specifications, etc.
  • Be flexible on weekends and holidays to support Aircraft on Ground (AOG)
  • Capable of supporting Receiving and/or Final Inspection
  • Issue FAA 8130-3 Tags for applicable product
  • Capable of communicating with Production, Engineering, Shipping, and Customers
  • Verify supplier documentation as required by customer
  • Perform product visual and dimensional checks per Customer requirements
  • Maintain Inspection Logs per customer requirements
  • Route non-conforming product and paperwork for non-conformance processing
  • Make improvement suggestions to Quality Engineering
  • Verify packaging requirements as required
  • Review Shipping generated Certificate of Conformance

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED is required. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to stand for 8+ hours.
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Must be available for overtime, including extended workdays and weekends.
  • Ability to comply with EH&S policies and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Attend EH&S trainings as required.
  • Ability to report unsafe practices and/or conditions to the appropriate individuals to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
  • Ability to recommend improvements to EH&S practices to create a safer workplace.
  • A minimum of 8 years of Inspection experience which includes at least 5 years, internally, as an Inspector (or equivalent)
  • Prefer 8130 or SAE experience
