Job Description

  • S&OP Planning position within Mars Petcare Australia.
  • Lead a dedicated team of Supply and Demand Planners with a focus on improving the full S&OP process to ensure Mars Petcare Australia delivers its strategy.
  • This role could be based in Wodonga (VIC) or from our Melbourne corporate office.

This critical role will see you accountable for leadership and governance of the total S&OP process. This will include direct leadership of the Supply & Demand Planning processes and teams.

Lead the S&OP cycles and integrate Demand and Supply functions in all aspects of strategic planning and day to day operations.

As the S&OP Planning Manager, you are a critical member of the AUS Pet Nutrition Supply Leadership Team and represent end-to-end planning through various S&OP+ forums & meetings with responsibility to deliver the best outcomes for the total enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with various key stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities across supply and demand against our growth plans and broader strategic agenda and targets.
  • Lead and develop your team to be the best they can be through clear objective setting and by providing considered feedback, challenge and support
  • Ensure your team of demand controllers, demand planners and supply planners are set up for success with capability and tools
  • Lead your team to deliver results by ensuring pending network changes, supply challenges and forecast accuracy are reflected in inventory target setting. Further, you will ensure causes for demand and supply variability are identified and establish plans to improve both.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration, particularly across Marketing, Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, R&D and Logistics, to help embed an every improving S&OP capability for the enterprise.
  • Monitor and communicate projected service misses and risks and use demand control techniques in the near term to establish runway for the longer term S&OP processes and improvements that will set up Mars Pet Australia for ongoing sustainable growth.
  • Monitor performance versus the demand and supply plan including working with senior stakeholders to identify areas of opportunity short and long term.
  • Prepare and participate in periodic business performance reviews with all functions and S&OP cycle meetings.
  • Facilitate the S&OP process with the Mars Petcare Australia Leadership Team

What are we looking for?

  • Ideally experience facilitating and improving the full S&OP cycle
  • 5 years of experience in a Supply or Demand Planning role
  • Planning experience supplemented by Project Management, Supply-Chain, Logistics, or Sales & Marketing experience would also be beneficial
  • Advanced degree in Business management (advantageous)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Leadership experience – inducing direct management of individuals.
  • Detailed understanding of S&OP Cycle, with demonstrated organisational agility.
  • Capability in influencing without authority, driving results through others, risk management & problem solving.
