This position is for a Commodity Management specialist within our Interiors Services & Support (ISS) Supply Chain department, reporting to the Sr Manager, Commodity Strategy. The position is responsible for developing strategies that drive overall supplier performance and enhance customer satisfaction levels. The candidate will also partner with various organizational functions across Collins Commodity teams to drive best in class quality, cost and delivery for aftermarket business. Competency in Communication, Teamwork, Customer Focus and Analytical Thinking are important to be successful in this role.

This individual will ideally sit at Collins Aerospace Interiors location in Winston-Salem, NC but can sit at any Collins Aerospace Interiors domestic location. Remote locations will be considered.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy commodity strategy in support of aftermarket activities by interpreting available data.
  • Drive KPI metrics
  • Negotiate and administer contracts and purchasing agreements with suppliers with a goal of 100% coverage
  • Rationalize the supply base to achieve business objectives with the right number of suppliers
  • Evaluate vendors' capability, quality, reliability, and price competitiveness
  • Report, monitor and drive supplier performance
  • Establish sourcing goals and acceptable service levels
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers
  • Perform purchasing function – RFP and work transfers. Evaluate supplier quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers
  • Review commodity market and make a fair and reasonable determination of impact to business
  • Analyze data and information to determine reasonable prices
  • Clearly communicate with management, internal customers, and suppliers
  • Manage and prioritize several projects at one time
  • Travel as necessary (25%)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • •Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with commodity management such as composites and plastics
  • Awareness of Supply Chain practices and Commodity Management
  • Experience with JDE, SAP or equivalent ERP system.
  • Continuous Improvement process/Lean experience.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office software (Excel, Access, PowerPoint). And other analytical programs
  • Previous experience in Supply Chain, Operations or Customer Service experience
