Job Description

The Account Executive's responsibilities include direct sales of the company’s main product lines, meeting and exceeding projected sales goals through targeted sales initiatives. Sales activities include sales presentations (live and via webinar), and conference and tradeshow presence. This role requires deep understanding of OverDrive’s products and services, as well as experience developing trusted relationships with current and future partners/customers

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of all relevant OverDrive products, services, and features.
  • Drive revenue growth in assigned territory and meet sales quotas and other KPIs.
  • Research, develop, and maintain an understanding of assigned territory, including prospects and existing partners in the school and library spaces within territory.
  • Generate and qualify leads through cold-calling, relationship selling, referral activity and lead follow-up. Convert leads into qualified sales pipeline, providing detailed product knowledge to share in appropriate form with potential leads.
  • Create and execute territory plans. Seek new markets for existing products and new opportunities within existing markets.
  • Forecast and manage pipeline for accounts on a monthly / quarterly / annual basis.
  • Drive demand in assigned territory through focused telephone campaigns, workshops, webinars, mass emails, and other innovative demand generation activities.
  • Proactively follow up and nurture leads and opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with the territory team to ensure the best service is provided to each partner.
  • Occasionally attend tradeshows and industry events in assigned territories.
  • Address each customer inquiry by providing proper information and solutions based on the partner’s needs and interests. Maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction with accounts in assigned territory.
  • Maintain data regarding pipeline, prospects, and partner information into Salesforce.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with management to present progress toward goals and collaborate on sales strategies.
  • Report success stories and sales wins and trends to the Regional Manager on a weekly basis
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1 - 3 years’ of consultative sales experience.
  • Confident, proactive, and energetic; professional and team-oriented sales approach.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage cross group relationships within OverDrive (i.e., business development, marketing, product management, and development, etc.).
  • Team player.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Must acquire and maintain knowledge of OverDrive's products and strategies, competitors and software/mobile devices.
  • Outstanding Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience prospecting and developing high-level customer relationships.
  • Excellent presentation and closing skills in person, via web and / or phone.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
