Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in cellular device carrier certification or an equivalent field.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas (e.g., 4G/5G protocol, RF, field testing, and/or conformance testing).
• Experience in program management for certification.
• Ability to speak and write in English and Japanese fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

• 7 years of experience in cellular device carrier certification or an equivalent field.
• Experience in troubleshooting issues.
• Experience with cellular device certification.
• System level testing expertise on Android based devices.
• Knowledge in standards, testing, and certification protocols and RF requirements cellular connected products.
• Ability to perform log analysis for commonly used chipset for 4G/5G LTE.

Our team takes lead on the carrier certification test in the lab and field. As part of the team, you will collaborate with test partners and development teams, ensuring all test progress is on track and issues are fixed. In addition, you will support the product developmental process with regards to certification, while helping to shape Google's best practices, tools, and processes for Google branded hardware products.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Technical Subject Matter expert and lead for Japan Carrier Certification, and fulfill carrier certification requirements across development teams, testing labs, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Manage the daily operations of carrier field certification.
• Assist certification test requirements and validate test reports for accuracy, completeness, and ensure all mandatory requirements are properly accounted for in filing packages.
• Communicate certification status and issues in a clear, succinct, and timely manner to all impacted teams.
