Get to know the Role:

As the Head of Data Governance and Partnership, you will be working on all aspects of Data, from the business teams to the engineering teams. You will be responsible for building a best of breed Data Governance and Partnership organization in Malaysia. You will also be expected to participate in the grounds up implementation of a full Data Governance organization that places data at its core of the business. As a member of the Data Team, you will be an early adopter of all data management and governance practices and are encouraged to think out of the box in this job. You will also be responsible for data partnerships activities in Malaysia which includes but not limited to data exchange contracts and legal terms and conditions

Role :

• Support the contract negotiations for the various joint venture partners.
• Reporting to Head of Data, Malaysia and working with Head of Data Governance in the region to maintain and create all relevant Data Governance reports to Bank Negara.
• Create and maintain a Data Governance framework with related data policies for the Bank
• Operationalize the data policies within the Bank.
• Maintain partnerships by actively monitoring KPIs and holding regular meetings to finetune or take corrective action.
• Participate in data policy/regulation working groups, as well as establishing relationships with the joint venture partners to understand data needs.
• Have a solid understanding of the data landscape and to consistently be on the top of new and changed datasets.
• Responsible for designing the organisation’s data governance policies as part of the data lifecycle.
• Manage the infrastructure and tools required to ensure data governance policies are adhered to.
• Drive the data partnership agreements for the Bank in Malaysia.
• Accountable for data related risks throughout the organisation.
• Handle the activities towards a Digital Bank licences in Malaysia.
• Drive data policy enforcement.
• Provide guidance to the bank staff on Data Governance policies and procedures.
• Drive the Data Quality implementation.
• Running of the Bank’s Data Audit.
• Be responsible for the continual monitoring of data access (from both RBAC and non RBAC) and handle exceptions in accesses.
• Support the team in Malaysia in the bid for the Digital bank.
• Be responsible for the creation of Data Governance metrics.

The Must-Haves

• At least 10+ years of data governance experience, preferably involved in the implementation of data governance activities and processes in a large organization.
• At least 5+ years of experience in data partnerships
• Able to understand business requirements of data as well as the complexity of data in technical systems.
• Experience in negotiation of contracts and legal terminologies
• Candidates will be aligned appropriately within the organization depending on experience and depth of knowledge.
• Must have sound understanding for all Big Data components & Data Warehousing concepts, preferably in SnowFlake.
• Must have good fundamental hands-on knowledge of at least one data governance tool.
• Strong understanding of Data Quality concepts.
• Good knowledge of banking systems and reporting.
• Experience with RBAC data access especially in datalakes, preferably within JumpCloud.
• Good understanding of privacy laws and regulations, especially in the area of PII handling within a big data environment.
• Good understanding of financial laws around the Banking Acts and other related regulations.
• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work under tight deadlines.
• Must have the knowledge of Data metadata, lineage and catalog concepts

This Data Protection Notice / Privacy Policy describes how GrabTaxi Holdings Pte Ltd (“Grab”) and its respective subsidiaries, associate companies and jointly controlled entities (“Grab Group”) uses your Personal Data.
