Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Experience working in/with developer relations.
• Experience with presentations and public speaking.
• Experience working with customers in a technical environment.
• Ability to speak and write in English, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other similar cloud technologies.
• Experience with managing an open source project, public cloud platforms, machine learning, or data models and analytics.
• Experience speaking at technology conferences, blogging/writing technical articles with an existing follower base, or contributing to a popular open source projects.
• Knowledge of databases and analytics.
• Knowledge of web application development platforms and related web and cloud technologies.
• Understanding of core machine learning principles.

The Cloud Developer Relations team consists of experts from a wide range of technology roles including Software Engineers, Data Scientists and Engineers, Machine Learning Scientists, System Administrators (Development Operations), Site Reliability Engineers, Cloud Native Engineers/Operations, etc. who combine their domain expertise with a strong desire to help Google Cloud build products and solutions that are critical to their own communities and that solve their problems in simple, scalable and innovative ways.

As a Developer Relations Engineer, you’ll join a team of Practitioners that empathize with external technical communities, and advocate on their behalf to the Google Cloud Product and Engineering teams, ensuring that our products are built to meet the community's needs and that they provide the best possible user and developer experiences. You’ll work to raise awareness of Google Cloud technologies and methodologies within our technical communities through enablement and inspiration, and you’ll drive strategy around Google Developer Relations efforts for specific communities and products. You’ll use empathy for your community in order to define product strategies and to craft narratives around new products and technologies, both meeting technical practitioners where they are going and to get to where they need to be.

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical communities as a practitioner having, or developing understanding of that community’s needs.
• Represent the needs of technical communities throughout the entire product lifecycle, including input on design discussions, customer zero testing, launch, post-launch updates.
• Advocate for your community internally and influence Google Cloud product strategy by working with Product Management, Engineering, PR, Marketing, Business Development, and other cross-functional teams.
• Seek and synthesize feedback and sentiment in order to drive continuous improvement to Google Cloud Platform products and to the overall experience of technical practitioners using the platform.
• Work with Product and Engineering teams to define product strategies and to craft narratives around new products and features.
