Job Description

NerdWallet, a website and mobile app delivering industry-leading financial guidance, tools and independent reviews, has launched in Canada. Founded in 2009, NerdWallet is headquartered in San Francisco, California. There’s a team of more than 600 Nerds who are on a mission to provide clarity for all of life’s financial decisions.

We have over 160 million visitors come to us every year as a trusted and objective source for information. Our content team is 90+ people strong and growing. And we provide consumers with expert and actionable guidance across a range of personal finance topics.

NerdWallet is looking for a Writer/Spokesperson in Canada to cover the personal finance choices that millions of people grapple with every day — and help spread the word through various outreach channels (for example, social media, TV, radio) about the guidance, resources and tools we offer. Successful candidates must be able to translate complex topics and data into conversational articles that frame the answers our audience seeks with the context it deserves — and proactively identify trends and news that will interest readers, as well as media that can link to and potentially syndicate our content. We’re looking for a candidate to cover banking, credit cards, mortgages and general personal finance, and more topics in the future.

In addition to writing compelling and informative stories, and building relationships and the brand, you also would own areas of the NerdWallet Canada website, and use the best practices for search optimization to ensure that those who need help can easily find it. You would measure the success of your content and build on it — all with the goal of creating the internet’s best answers for the topics you cover.
