Collins Aerospace is looking for a Procurement Specialist who will provide delivery assurance in a fast-paced high-matrixed environment. You will ensure that the day-to-day supply chain management activities such as placing purchase orders and managing suppliers while ensuring they execute on quality and on-time delivery at cost to meet our financial goal. You will interact with multiple programs, departments and both domestic and international suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Attend program status meetings and production meetings as required.
  • Create and authorize purchase orders and approves payments to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly.
  • Analyze and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contratual compliance.
  • Prepare and review requests for proposals and bids complex projects.
  • Manage the BOM of assembly level in SAP to ensure correct configuration components are being built at suppliers and received at Collins site.
  • Interact with all levels of staff and management.
  • Meet multiple deadlines and ensure targets are identified and met.
  • Expedite shipments and negotiate terms of contracts.
  • Drive on-time deliveries on all shipments.
  • Handle high volumes of work are required.
  • Participate in ACE/Continuous improvement events and activities such as Value Stream Mapping or Kaizen events

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Experience with Supply Chain processes, supplier interface and purchase order placement.
  • Understanding of contract structures, business terms and conditions.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and in an organizaed manner, with strong customer service focus.
  • Experience with MS Office
  • MRP/ERP systems experience
  • Able to communicate and make presentations to senior leadership.
  • Able to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally as needed (when current environment allows)
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP experience
  • EDI knowledge
  • Skills in Lean, Six Sigma or ACE
  • Aerospace Industry experience
