Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Law/Accountant/Technical master's certification
  • 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Google Pay and the Indian financial system. Experience with protocols and lawful requests related to digital wallet platform, privacy matters, and online safety matters.
  • Interpersonal and analytical experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with RBI, financial regulatory bodies/law enforcement or in a role requiring active engagement with such bodies in India.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
  • Well-organized and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
  • Organized and able to work independently without a lot of administrative support.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of matters from complex matters to routine standard matters.

About the job

The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.

Responsibilities

  • Handle coordination with and support to financial regulatory bodies, RBI, NPCI and law enforcement agencies for Google Pay while working with internal teams to respond to lawful requests received.
  • Ensure law enforcement and regulatory lawful requests are acknowledged, reviewed and handled pursuant to applicable laws and Google Pay's policies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams with regard to potential legal and financial risks in India for Google Pay; implementation of policies, and processes for compliance with lawful requests to ensure compliance with applicable laws across Google Pay's operations in India.
  • Engage with RBI, NPCI, financial regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies regularly to conduct trainings and workshops geared towards process improvement and to preempt issue escalation.
