The meeting and events landscape has evolved dramatically in the past 18 months, presenting exciting new opportunities for event professionals and marketers to reach and engage virtual and in-person audiences across meetings and events of all types and formats. Cvent is looking for a Director/Sr. Manager to join our Solutions Marketing team. This senior team member and consummate storyteller will play a key role in driving Cvent’s growth by creating, executing and evangelizing Cvent’s messaging and go-to-market strategy, with an emphasis on how organizations can leverage technology to better execute, engage, drive value across their virtual and in-person events. The total event program consists of all event types, internal and external, hosted and attendees, as well as all event formats – virtual, in-person, and hybrid.

This is a broad role, responsible for the development and continuous refinement of Cvent’s total event program messaging. This role reports to the Senior Director of Industry Marketing in the product marketing organization and collaborates closely with Cvent’s product management, demand generation and sales organizations. The successful candidate should already have experience with events of multiple formats – virtual, in-person, and/or hybrid.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support the development of solution marketing plans, including quantifiable goals, buyer personas and key messages, and go to market strategies to exceed growth targets
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of customer and prospect requirements and represent the voice of the customer/prospect within the organization
  • Aggressively position and market the company as a leading enterprise software solution provider for all events and every event format
  • Develop clear, compelling, and concise value propositions, based on pain points that resonate with users and buyers. Own and maintain message brief for total event program.
  • Work with product management, product marketing, sales enablement, and demo teams to guide development of total event program collateral, training, and product needs.
  • Work with marketing programs and field marketing teams to execute annual and quarterly go-to-market plans including awareness, demand generation, sales enablement and partner plans; and supporting materials/content
  • Develop effective sales and marketing tools that enable Sales to successfully win new business. Provide direction and/or drive the creation of industry- and function-specific content including web content, collateral, white papers, customer presentations, customer case studies, ROI models, and solution demos
  • Perform sales training and participate in sales calls to ensure field effectiveness in positioning and selling
  • Representing Cvent on webinars and other industry speaking engagements, virtual and in-person
  • Guiding the development of the content program for Cvent CONNECT, Cvent’s annual user conference in conjunction with the Meetings and Events team.
  • Support win/loss analysis, customer requirements, competitive positioning, and more

What You Need for this Position

  • A minimum of 10+ years total work experience with 3-5 years of experience in industry, solution and/or product marketing in the enterprise software market
  • Events industry experience is a significant plus
  • Master story-teller and strategic thinker, with the ability to translate complex topics into understandable, compelling sales messages
  • Proven ability to understand and communicate business processes, business challenges and associated infrastructure requirements effectively within different vertical industries and/or business functions
  • Proven ability to provide direction for a solution, or set of solutions in an industry or functional area, including building a market-driven business case, developing a marketing and launch plan, creating compelling messaging based on customer pain points, and working closely with customers, industry experts, press and analysts
  • An entrepreneurial drive and work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize in a results-driven, collaborative environment
  • Aptitude for technology and ability to connect technical concepts with customer value
  • Experience working with technology partners and system integrators to develop and implement partner marketing plans a plus
  • BA in marketing, business, computer science or related field. MBA a plus
