Roku is seeking a Payroll Accountant to be a part of the International HQ Accounting team based in Amsterdam. The role supports our international accounting and financial operations teams. This will be working closely with colleagues in London, US and Amsterdam. You will report to the Senior Manager International.

The ideal candidate will have endless curiosity and can pair a global mindset with locally relevant execution. You should be a gritty problem solver and self-starter who can drive projects with the finance operations and finance tech teams within Roku to create internationally scalable processes with automation. The successful candidate will display a balance of hard and soft skills, including the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs.
What you’ll be doing

• Prepare monthly Payroll run journals for 14 international entities
• Prepare monthly accruals for leaves, overtime, vacation pay, 13/14th month pay, etc.
• Prepare monthly general accruals for some of the international entities
• Ensuring the Payroll journals are correctly processed with the appropriate GL code, cost centers, codes and location. Analyze and advise stakeholders on reclasses when necessary
• Preparing Payroll Balance Sheet reconciliations appropriately and follow-up on closing the open balances with the various relevant stakeholders
• Analyze the root cause of the for unsettled payroll entries and inform and advise stakeholders regarding the open issues
• Analyze and provide comments on monthly and quarterly cost center review
• Supporting in projects to drive scalable solutions for international utilizing automation
• Participate in payroll statutory local audits

We’re excited if you have

• 4+ years of functional experience with payroll processing and accounting in international payroll
• Big 4 experience is a plus
• Strong accounting knowledge
• Attention to detail, with strong analytical and numerical skills
• Understand and comply with all SOX controls and departmental processes and procedures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required including the ability to collaborate with people at all levels.
• Flexibility, pro-activeness, initiative, hands-on, high energy
• Able to cope with working in a fast-paced international environment
• Excellent Excel Skills
