Job Description
The Business Development Representative role at Bolt is the cornerstone of Bolt’s Strategic Alliance Team. This is a hybrid role where you will source new partner opportunities. You will manage small partners and handoff mid-to-large partners to teammates. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is in the early stage of their career yet driven to learn and have a career in strategic alliances. You will work directly with our alliance reps, who will teach and mentor you on how to seek new partnerships by engaging with agencies/systems integrators/consultants. Success in this role is dependent on organization, time management, and prospecting.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Generate new pipeline for our alliance team through prospect engagements (cold calling, email outreach,LinkedIn, direct mail, field events, networking, etc.)
- Develop a territory plan to break into named accounts.
- Own the initial outreach to partner prospects in order to educate them on the value of the Bolt.
- Hold initial calls with partner prospects to understand their services/offering (scope of services, value provided to customers, size of customer-based, and target market).
- Be the partner manager and lead the go-to-market strategy with SMB partners.
- Transition mid-market and enterprise prospects to alliance managers/team.
- Provide data reports with weekly sales results for the team.
Requirements:
- CRM Proficiency. (Salesforce strongly preferred)
- Outbound experience with cold calling, email, LinkedIn, social, field events etc are are non-negotiable
- Grit - we need people who are relentlessly persistent and aren’t afraid of rejection
- Strong attention to detail - we have big goals and need people who will ensure that we are accurately tracking our data
- Results oriented - you are always looking for ways to improve your process or use your time more effectively to overachieve quota

What Will Set You Up For Success:
- 3 years of experience working in a partner role (technology or agencies/systems integrators) in the commerce field at the leading commerce platforms - BigCommerce, Magento, Salesforce.
- 1-2 years of e-commerce related experience - you will be engaging with senior level executives and should be able to talk the talk
- A deep understanding of the commerce ecosystem and the value chain of who does what from the ecommerce platforms, to agencies/systems integrators, to payment providers.
- An understanding of agencies/systems integrator business models, the value they deliver, and empathy for the businesses they are building.
- Experience in a value selling approach while exceeding activity, pipeline, and revenue targets.
- Passion for communicating value to senior stakeholders and figuring out creative ways to create success.
- A four-year degree or MBA.
- An energetic self-starter who is proactive in holding yourself accountable to a consistent alliance and sales process.
- Experience selling innovative and disruptive products, building trust without deep product evaluations, leveraging multiple use cases, and compressing your deal cycles.
- Demonstrated excellence in something outside of work.
