Wage Notice $85,000 - $120,000 + VIP Bonus Job Description

Business analysts (BAs) are responsible for bridging the gap between development and the business using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders. They are also responsible for building value-added relationships with customers.

Skills & Requirements

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:

• Defines business scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of business and industry requirements
• You will analyze data to develop detailed, comprehensive business specification documents to include carrier and product requirements
• You will maintain new and maintenance business specification documents with day-to-day coordination between team members which consist of Developers, QA, Project Managers, & Deployment
• You will participate in recurring project meetings with team members and clients
• You will maintain knowledge of current applications
• You will use available tools to provide project tracking and status
• You will ensure timely and effective delivery of the business specification documents
• You are adaptable to changing priorities and can quickly get things done and “figure it out” with minimal requirements and guidance
• You are an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and can work effectively with team members and clients to deliver custom solutions
• You have a positive attitude, team player with a desire to impact change, accountable for your job responsibilities, dedicated to meeting and exceeding customer expectations, and drives for results
• Performs functional analysis, requirements, definition and application module configuration and testing
• Responsible for developing functional specifications
• Has a thorough understanding of the business processes and flows to enable the analysis of business requirements and the development of solutions for the business functions
• Responsible for the identification of and resolution of gaps in the business processes. Involved in security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Insurance software experience
• MS Office Applications
• Working knowledge of backend development systems
• Agile development methodologies

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience
• Skilled in Project Management, has ability to handle small and large projects
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks concurrently
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Five (5) years of relevant technical or business work experience
• Property & Casualty Insurance experience, a plus
• Experience working with Agency Management Systems such as Applied’s EPIC/TAM, or Vertafore’s Sagitta/AMS360, a plus

Additional Requirements and Details:

• Travel required up to 10% of the time.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds
• Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.)
• Frequent sitting and/or standing

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics. Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

The Vertafore Incentive Plan (VIP) is an annual monetary bonus for eligible employees based on both individual and company performance. Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date, good standing in the company, and actives status at time of payout.

Commission plans are tailored to each sales role but common components include quota, MBO's and ABPMs. Salespeople receive their formal compensation plan within 30 days of hire.
