Job Description

Visa is heavily investing in its Global Design Team to help support its growing digital product line. We are looking for a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Senior UX Designer to join our Miami based team at our Innovation Center.

We believe that great design has the ability to engage and inspire users, and we strive to rethink and redefine how users interact with Visa's applications and products. Our team members are innovative thinkers and strategic problem solvers who are as analytical as they are creative.

In this role, you will model excellent UX principles and be responsible for designing usable, accessible and engaging user experiences. You will thrive in a work environment that requires strong independent problem-solving skills and innovative thinking, coupled with affinity for team collaboration and open communication.

The ideal candidate consistently demonstrates superb design, writing and presentation skills. This individual will foster collaboration both inside and outside the team, evangelizes and promotes UX within the company, and can juggle several high-level projects while delivering A-level work on all of them.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Design usable, accessible and engaging digital experiences for internal and external clients
  • Own and make design decisions based on a thorough understanding of forward-looking and user-centered design principles
  • Exercise independent judgment, as well working in collaboration with team member to create next generation experiences
  • Facilitate Design-Thinking workshops with internal and external stakeholders to create user-focused solutions
  • Collaborate with business partners and build upon their vision using sound UX principles
  • Capture requirements, design flows, wireframes, testable prototypes and fully fleshed out designs
  • Document your designs and consult with engineers to ensure they are built and function as intended
  • Effectively demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Responsible for the strategic oversight of product design projects
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fully fluent in Spanish and English
  • Minimum of 5+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, at least 2 years of work experience with a Masters Degree (or other advanced degree) or 2 years of experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Graphic Design, Human Factors or related field

Essential Qualifications

  • UX portfolio required
  • Proficiency designing and developing prototypes using Balsamiq, Invision or other industry tools
  • Proficiency designing high-fidelity mockups using Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or other industry tools
  • Proficiency designing and facilitating using Mural and/or similar remote tools
  • Subject Matter Expertise in interaction design
  • Experience conducting usability tests
  • Experience working with SCRUM in an Agile environment a plus
  • UX research experience a plus
  • Subject Matter Expertise in Accessibility (508/WCAG) a plus
  • Group facilitation and teaching (design thinking) skills a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including thorough and methodical attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate concepts and recommendations confidently to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to self-manage time and work independently or as part of a team
  • An online portfolio that demonstrates outstanding product and ecosystem thinking

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
