Project finance plans, controls, and reports program performance relating to cost and schedule according to the Earned Value Management System. Project finance is a well-rounded role that introduces an employee to the various facets of BAE Systems finance. This role specifically supports F-35 Block 4 and Electronic Warfare Modernization programs with focus on Material analysis, forecasting, earned value and reporting.
F-35 programs are part of the LOTAC Air EW Product Line in the Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) Business Area. Working on these programs, this role is a key part of the success of significant development programs in the Electronic Systems Sector.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include:
  • Considerable focus on Material analysis including responsibility for module Design to Unit Production Cost (DTUPC) and Unit Production Cost (UPC).
  • Significant program team contributor. Coordinating team meetings and reviews and offering solutions to problems
  • Serving as the right hand man or woman to the program manager
  • Working with the contracts department for funding, billings, and other contractual items
  • Creating and influencing program baselines through earned value management
  • Developing and monitoring program risks and opportunities, such as cost overruns and scheduling delays
  • Developing financial forecasts and deeply analyzing estimates at completion
  • Supporting weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting requirements both internally and externally
  • Interfacing with customers
  • Reporting financials to management
  • Proposal support through pricing basis of estimates, compiling cost volumes, and preparing request for bid approvals (RBA); participating in fact-finding, statements of position, and negotiations
Required Education, Experience, & Skills REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related degree / equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Demonstrated problem solving and in-depth analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and present financial data to other functions in an accurate, concise, and understandable manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence diverse work teams
  • Ability to prioritize and self-manage a multi-tasked workload in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to make decisions with sound judgment while complying with policies and procedures
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills PREFERRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION
  • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, ProPricer, and Cobra
  • Experience with project forecasting and analysis, particularly in a US Defense environment
  • Experience in program finance and/or other finance functional disciplines
  • Understanding and knowledge industry practices and standards as well as company policies
