The A Side: A Day in The Life
The Marketing Intern will work closely with the Marketing team to assist and provide support in all aspects of the marketing process.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be administrative - Keeping diligent track of watermarked stream links and CDs- both production of and tracking
- Maintain marketing updates and timelines for meetings
- Work with Video Admin to ensure all new videos are logged in BAM and serviced to the project team and third parties
- Budgeting in Uniport; including approving quotes, raising POs etc.
- Sourcing and ordering any merchandise or special items
- Ordering any POS needed e.g. flyers, stickers, posters
- Co-ordination of street teams on various projects
- Co-ordination of in-stores and other artist sessions
- Co-ordinating Planning Meetings
- Assist in, if required, digital, TV and Radio ads
- Organising MPE retail blasts
- Helping to create assets for artist and label social announcements
- Weekly updating of competitor release schedules
- Arranging travel
- Co-ordinating showcases with the Marketing team
- Booking cabs/couriers
- Ticket request administration and ordering on behalf of marketing team
- Answering calls for team if not at desk
Be operational - Initiating new releases and videos at request of Product Managers & Marketing Director
- Liaising with marketing, designer, and artist/management to deliver, copy check, and facilitate approval
- Liaising with external suppliers
- Canvas promo quantities from TV, Radio, Press and Club Promotions
- Creation of affiliate, re-marketing links within Universal's Linkfire system
- Management of Island's 'Highstreet club and instore' new music mailer.
- Sales notes for album releases
- Work in conjunction with FUSED, digital advertising planners
- Making sure ad copy is delivered to advertisers, in conjunction with designers
- General administration (invoicing, filing, ordering stationery/CD stock)
- Data Analysis, reporting on streaming activity and play listing as requested by marketing managers within Universal's Artist Portal
- Maintain marketing campaigns in UmusicBox
- Oversee work experience/intern
- Attend gigs; assist on facilitating after shows + showcases
- Ensuring that all Artists birthdays are acknowledged
- Occasionally working outside office hours on special projects, video shoots and shows
- Any other reasonable duties as required by marketing team
Person Specification
- Passionate about music with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Desire to pursue a career within marketing, previous experience highly advantageous
- Proven experience of working effectively and efficiently under pressure in a calm and organised manner
- Knowledge of the streaming space, use of either Spotify, Apple Music or both
- Professional, proactive and flexible approach to work – ability to prioritise, multi-task & pre-empt problems before they occur
- Excellent track record of working to strict deadlines & maintaining a high standard of attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels
- Strong problem solving skills and proven examples of using initiative in the work place
- Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships both internally and externally
- Team player able to see all tasks through from inception to fruition independently
- Ability to deal with situations discreetly & confidentially
- Able to demonstrate a tactful and diplomatic approach
- Experience in using in house computer systems and packages including Excel, Word and Outlook
