Alation is looking to add an experienced digital marketing manager, with a focus on Search Engine Optimization (SEO), to our growing marketing team. As the Digital Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the ongoing optimization and execution of strategies aimed at increasing traffic to Alation.com through search engines. You’ll utilize the most up-to-date SEO tactics and best practices, monitor & identify industry trends, and interpret performance to inform actionable decisions to drive the leads. This role reports into the Senior Marketing Manager of the Website and will work closely with the greater Marketing team (especially performance and content marketing) to take our organic search strategy to the next level. We’re looking for someone who isn't afraid to try new things – driven to constantly improve results by taking chances – because in digital marketing we can’t stand still for too long.

What You'll Be Doing

    • Manage SEO strategy (including project managing of external SEO agency) and reputation management to strive for high search ranking and positive reviews
    • Optimize website content, title tags and meta descriptions based on determined keyword strategy
    • Build and execute off-site SEO strategies that are tied to content marketing efforts
    • Perform ongoing keyword research to identify opportunities to continually take share in SERPs
    • Ensure that SEO efforts are managed effectively to achieve performance goals
    • Evaluate and optimize new and existing content to improve ranking and search visibility for target keywords using SEO tools and web analytics platforms
    • Identify targeted SEO content (individual and content hubs); work with content team to execute
    • Develop and analyze digital channel performance metrics to drive future marketing decisions and optimize lead acquisition and activation strategy
    • Oversee the creation and optimization of review site profiles, landing pages, and guest posts in Unbounce, Uberflip, Splash, G2, Capterra, and other martech tools
    • Manage the digital customer experience on website from homepage through funnel to enhance brand appeal and consideration
    • Optimize conversion rate through continuous onsite multivariate testing
    • Build strong analytics foundation to power data-driven performance enhancements

You Should Have:

    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a high-tech B2B demand generation/ digital marketing/ SEO role. (Agency experience is a plus!)
    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business or comparable education/ experience.
    • Strong understanding of the nuances in search engines, keyword research, and the importance of content creation
    • Strong understanding of email, demand gen, and general digital marketing best practices is a plus!
    • Familiarity with WordPress & Hubspot
    • Familiarity with YouTube SEO
    • Familiarity with SEO tools and web analytics platforms (Moz, Search Console, SEMrush, DataStudio, Google Analytics etc.)
    • Familiarity with Major review sites (such as G2, Capterra, etc)
    • Experience with AB testing, CrazyEgg, and Uberflip is a plus!
    • Excellent writing, presentation, research and relationship management skills, with ability to articulate creative and technical concepts.
    • Successful track record of managing agency partners, creative and production teams for campaigns and content development
    • Experience working with community management, social, and web teams to bring together brand efforts across all social and digital channels
    • Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to interpret results that drive change
    • Strong communication skills and comfortable presenting concepts/deliverables to internal stakeholders and external partners
    • Ability to work autonomously and have excellent attention to detail
