Job Description – MDM Software Engineer

Summary Description

This is a JAVA Engineer position with a preferred emphasis in JAVA development and experience with Cloud first application development. The job position will be in the MDM – Engineering in Bangalore, India.

This role involves designing, developing and supporting analytical JAVA applications in a cloud first environment, utilizing Teradata MDM. This engineer must have cloud-based Java/J2EE development, a strong object-oriented analysis and design skills, good understanding of Spring Framework, experience with application servers and utilizing third party open source components and be able to support development of Services and capabilities in this environment. Must have experience with REST API design and development, Spring Boot based Microservices, Containerization techniques like Docker, Kubernetes, Code coverage tools, code analysis tools, CICD & Engineering tools like Jira, Confluence, Git, Artifactory, Jenkins/Teamcity, etc. Responsibilities include working closely with the engineering team to review feature/product requirements, provide input on architecture, preparation of specifications, design, prototype and develop cloud-based applications.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or applicable experience. 2-4 years of experience with Java J2EE, Cloud and GUI technologies, open source SW and Tomcat Application server is preferred. Must have experience working in an Agile development environment, building services that are scalable, reliable, secure and supportable in Cloud environments. Business application development experience preferred. Knowledge and experience with database concepts and SQL desired.

Key Areas of Responsibility

1. Work with MDM-based Java application engineers on the design, prototype, development and support of all elements of business applications.
2. Create specifications in support of design, and development
3. Planning and scoping of analytical development activities
4. Work with MDM development team to create MDM related services for Teradata MDM-based applications.

Scope

This role requires the ability to work within a high-performance team, and the ability and initiative to develop and drive implementation of the user interface and user interaction strategies that will contribute to the ongoing success of the project.

This role is for a JAVA Engineer reporting directly to the group level manager, requiring good skills in building and maintaining productive, collaborative relationships with Development Engineering peers and TDAA management.

Work Environment:

Tasks will be performed in an office workstation environment.
