Job Description

Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds, B-Line, Oil & Gas division is currently seeking an Operations Accounting Manager to join our team. This position will be based at either our Syracuse, NY, Moon Township, PA or Cleveland, OH facilities.

This position reports to the Global Operations Controller for the Crouse-Hinds, B-Line and Oil & Gas organization, working with Operations and Finance teams globally. The Operations Accounting Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and leading all operations accounting functions. In this role, you will support Operations and Accounting/Finance teams with standard processes and ad-hoc requests and assist with development and maintenance of all accounting records to ensure financial records are complete, accurate and in compliance with company policy.

In this function you will:

  • Analyze operational and financial data, investigate variances, identify business drivers, and evaluate their impact on planned objectives.
  • Interface with budget holders in providing budget reports and forecasts on a monthly basis.
  • Serve as a financial business partner to operational leaders.
  • Ensure growth of finance department through the development and execution of monthly financial processes, to include month-end closing and complete forecasting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of operating results. Provide information and assistance to other departments within the organization regarding these financial results and advise to management.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations for selected accounts at Group HQ.
  • Collaborate in oversight of fixed asset accounting and Capital Expenditure process.
  • Collaborate in standard costing process.
  • Collaborate in physical inventory process.
  • Complete ad hoc accounting assignments and perform specialized analysis as requested, often complex in nature.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years experience in Accounting.
  • Work Experience in Manufacturing Companies with cost accounting experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Syracuse, NY, Moon Township, PA or Cleveland, OH facilities. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP (or equivalent ERP system), Business Warehouse, Hyperion Enterprise, Hyperion Financial Manager (HFM)
  • CPA/CMA.
  • Experience within a multi-national organization.

Position Success Criteria:

  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations processes (SIOP, SCM, manufacturing variances, standard costs, physical inventories, profit plan, forecast).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities against multiple deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt in a complex, multi-national corporate structure.
  • Ability to communicate and present information to senior level managers/directors.
  • Ability to identify and implement standard work procedures and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and application of accounting principles.
