About the Role:

As a GSOC Operations Solutions Manager for the Cruise Global Security Operations (GlobalSec) team, you will build and manage the team that owns the various operational tools utilized by the GSOC team, as well as design and develop innovative new tools and data visualizations to improve efficiency and drive data driven decisions. In addition, the Manager will partner with cross-functional partners and GlobalSec leadership to develop data sets that empower the larger team to perform analyses and help visualize analytical data to support various initiatives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Become a subject matter expert for all GSOC tools, process, and operations to continuously improve and evaluate
  • Build and manage a team that creates and owns various GlobalSec platforms and tools that are leveraged on a daily basis
  • Develop and implement systems or applications change-management processes.
  • Continually improve and automate our methods for parsing data and incorporating it into real-time models, analysis, and actions
  • Write queries, perform data analysis, and create data visualizations to keep GlobalSec running efficiently and effectively
  • Build dashboards and visualizations that enables the organization to make data-driven decisions
  • Create and organize documentation on how tools are built and maintained
  • Become the subject matter expert for all existing and future GSOC tools
  • Generate operational documentation to assist GSOC supervisors in training on new tools and procedures
  • Continually perform gap analyses on existing processes and provide recommendations on how to improve
  • Oversee the project management life cycle for GSOC technology and data analysis projects and tool implementation, partnering with Technical Program Managers and Information Technology teams to ensure GSOC operational requirements are met.

What you must have:

  • 5+ years experience in tool development and/or data analysis
  • 1+ years experience in personnel management
  • Demonstrated experience with Google Suite, Slack, Splunk, and other data visualization tools
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to convince other organizations to address issues in a timely manner through thorough documentation and presentation
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision and take initiative to solve problems

Bonus points!

  • Experience developing high-fidelity detections from complex datasets
  • Fluency in SQL for querying complex data sets
  • Experience performing data collection and analysis in cloud environments
  • Coding/scripting proficiency in one or more languages
  • Expertise in static and dynamic malware analysis
  • Experience performing analysis within EDR solutions (i.e. Carbon Black, CrowdStrike Falcon)
  • Contributions to the security community (open source, public research, blogging, presentations, etc)
