This is Lockheed Martin’s lead business unit for research development and production of manned and unmanned ground-vehicle systems, electro-optical and smart munitions systems and is a pioneer in the field of versatile, high-performance missile and rocket technology.
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Reliability Engineer.
Duties include:
-Develop reliability block diagrams and reliability analysis to meet program contract requirements.
-Develop reliability predictions using approved prediction methodologies for mechanical and electrical designs.
-Perform Failure Mode and Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
-Develop reliability program growth plans, and conduct reliability growth analysis.
-Support design reviews and test activities as required.
-Participate in Corrective Action Boards (CAB) and Failure Review Boards (FRB).
-Identify Failure Review and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) trends to identify and prioritize failure modes to investigate for corrective actions.
-Provide status on FRACAS activities as part of monthly program meetings as well as present to the customer.
-Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), support Concept Screening Board (CSB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB).
-Prepare for and participate in Reliability Scoring Conferences.
-Work action items from the Failure Review Board and Reliability Scoring Conference meetings.
-Ability and willingness to learn Built-In-Test (BIT) design
-Compile and analyze performance reports and process control statistics; investigate and analyze relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes and as necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.
-Candidate will spend majority of time working in a team environment, providing inputs to engineers, performing analyses, and writing reports.
-There may be some travel.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. This North Central region of Texas is a great place to live and to raise a family. The region is home to numerous colleges and universities to include University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Woman's University. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.
Basic Qualifications:
-Candidate must have or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance
-Strong technical background
- Experience with reliability program growth plans and analysis and supporting design reviews and test activities.
- Experience with performing reliability predictions
-Experience with reliability FRACAS (failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system) and data mining
- Experience with the FMECA (failure mode, effects, and criticality analysis) process
-Experience with Windchill Quality Solutions Reliability software tool or equivalent
- Experience with Corrective Action Boards (CAB) and Failure Review Boards (FRB)
-FMECA analysis knowledge and/or experience
-Ability to manage subcontractors in Logistics field of expertise
-The ability to interface with multi–disciplined Program / Customer teams to achieve Program Mission Success (Production Operations, Contract Management, Subcontracts Management, Quality, Business Ops and Program Management)
-Proficient with Microsoft Office
-Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships are a must
-Additionally, candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, technical writing experience, and an ability to perform oral presentations in front of large groups
-Candidate must be willing to work overtime and travel as needed to support program requirements
Desired Skills:
-Active Secret Clearance
-Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
-Container reliability experience
-Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
-Fault Tree analysis
-Strong electrical background with a good mechanical understanding
-Experience troubleshooting or repairing electronics in military or commercial industry
-Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation
-Proposal development experience; Basis of Estimate (BOE) development
-Military experience with flight line operations
-Testability and/or Maintainability Experience
-Safety engineering knowledge
-Human Factors Engineering knowledge
-Knowledge of and experience in the Logistics and Sustainment Engineering efforts
-Missile system test and integration experience
-System Engineering requirements development and management experience
-Risk identification and management experience
