Job Description

Based in New York but fully distributed, Clubhouse builds project management software for software and product teams that people actually want to use. Thousands of the fastest-growing software companies use Clubhouse to plan and build software, including Dataiku, Scale AI, FullStory, and LaunchDarkly.

The Opportunity

As the Director of People Operations and reporting to the CEO, you will own Clubhouse’s end-to-end employee experience, starting from a candidate’s first introduction to an employee’s last day. This includes overseeing the recruiting team and hiring process, onboarding and offboarding employees, measuring and monitoring employee engagement and implementing compensation best practices.

The ideal candidate has experience creating happy and healthy work cultures (preferably in a remote, distributed environment), a track record of hiring high performing teams and a knack for building scalable and effective people processes. Salary Range : $150,000-$180,000

What you’ll do

  • Manage the People Operations Team, which currently consists of a full-time People Operations Associate and external recruiting agencies and freelancers
  • Own performance management, employee onboarding and offboarding, and employee engagement surveys
  • Partner with functional leaders on their organizational planning, compensation changes and employee relations
  • Identify and fulfill recruiting resourcing needs, including managing external agencies and freelancers and potentially staffing up an in-house recruiting team
  • Serve as a trusted ear for employees and assist them through whatever they need support with
  • Handle escalated employee relations issues, including terminations, complaints and investigations
  • Play a key role in progressing and measuring the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts

What we look for

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the HR and Recruiting field
  • Relevant functional experience at at least one high growth startup
  • Thrives in a distributed team environment and has experience establishing working norms for remote teams
  • Proven people leader with excellent feedback and performance management skills
  • Strong empathy with an ability to gain trust from all levels of employees
  • Structured thinker and effective communicator; skilled at getting buy-in and partnership from functional leaders on people-related initiatives
  • High comfort with coaching employees of all levels through complex people situations
