change travel for the better . Being highly visible in search engines is critical to the success of Trainline. As such, you will join the expanding International SEO team to drive the performance and growth of Trainline in the Italian market. This role is to work directly with and support the SEO leadership team to deliver increased visibility of Trainline in major search engines as well as offering cross-department support where needed. The role requires applicants with a passion for digital marketing, content and creative thinking who can generate ideas for increasing the web presence of Europe’s largest train ticketing business.
Responsibilites
- Conduct thorough keyword research and use this to write and implement targeted updates to meta titles, descriptions, H1’s and other on-page content changes to drive performance.
- Conduct macro trend analysis to find new content gaps and aid the marketing team and other business decisions.
- Help activating those opportunities by implementing on-site SEO tests and changes.
- Use a range of tools to monitor the SEO health of website and help analysing search engine and keyword performance to find valuable opportunities.
- Create and publish SEO-optimised editorial-style content and landing page copy across various sections of the Trainline website, in line with our brand tone of voice and style guide.
- Write and update on-site content and meta data on landing pages to keep abreast with search changes.
- Check content and copywriting for local accuracy and effectiveness
- Monitor, evaluate and resolve technical bugs/errors that impact UX and search engine performance.
- Monitor competitor performance in local search engines, conduct competitor research and feedback insights into your localised marketing strategy
- Contribute to technical SEO optimisations at scale, for example internal linking.
- Assist with targeted outreach campaigns in your market
- Provide support to the SEO leadership team to deliver the business objectives.
- Work collaboratively with Brand and Content Team on developing a localised SEO content roadmap to drive performance.
Knowledge & Experience
- Native Italian speaker with excellent writing skills and a deep understanding of localisation for your target market.
- Understanding of search engines and the algorithmic ranking factors; how search engines, read, index and value content.
- Knowledge of optimisation of search engines tools to enhance the site’s visibility.
- Skilled Microsoft Office user, especially Excel.
- Basis knowledge in using analytics tools such as Google Search Console and Google Analytics, happy to learn working with new tools.
- Familiar with SEO tools such as STAT, Screaming Frog, Semrush, Botify, AHREFs.
- Ability to devise creative SEO solutions across complex websites.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong copywriter and content-savvy.
