Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in program management on complex technology projects with demonstrated success leading cross-functional senior stakeholders and navigating ambiguity.
  • Experience working with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and HTTP.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience collaborating, building consensus, driving and delivering technical decisions with various sized customer stakeholder groups.
  • Experience thriving in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical leadership, project management, analytical problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • SQL and reporting design skills, along with a good understanding of data modeling and ETL concepts and technologies.
  • Demonstrable previous success managing senior stakeholders and clients.

The gTech Users and Products team (gUP) is on a mission to delight millions of consumers, partners, and publishers who rely on our flagship products like Google Maps, Pixel, GMail, Google Fi, and Google Play. Sitting at the intersection of product engineering, support, and the users, we focus on technical operations and solutions.

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will balance business and partner needs within technical constraints to help the team develop innovative cutting edge solutions, and act as a partner and consultant to those you are working with. You will oversee the technical execution of platforms, solutions and tools which deliver business efficiencies for gUp, as well as to help develop product strategy and prioritize projects.

You will also enable efficient execution of engineering solutions to gUP teams by applying technical know-how and best practices, ensuring smooth execution of high impact projects through technical program management across gUP-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of TPMs who provide project management, including creation of project plan, tracking, and keeping project timelines, accounting for dependencies, and ensuring communication within the team and cross-functionally.
  • Provide the required direct software development project management, manage schedules, identify roadblocks, manage inter/intra team communications to deliver outstanding program outcomes.
  • Drive quarterly and yearly planning, resourcing, prioritization, communication, and stakeholder management cross-functionally.
  • Work closely with software engineers, QA, Product Managers, and other engineering teams to deliver products, services, and features through the software development lifecycle.
  • Lead several gUP wide technical programs, setting priorities for Product and Engineering, and ensuring success and iterating and fine tuning.
