Job Description BAE Systems FAST Labs is looking for a full time employee to perform research and development for next generation laser systems. The employee will support the Sensor Technologies product line in FAST Labs, the research and development center for BAE Systems Electronics Solutions, a $4B business.
The employee will learn how to work in a multi-disciplinary team to support the high power lasers development. Research and work will focus on understanding laser energetics and development of customized laser configurations.
Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ year of relevant research experience or Master’s Degree with 2+ years of professional research experience
• Fundamental and working knowledge of laser energetics and NLO processes
• Proven experience with lasers assembly and configuration
• Hands-on work on lasers understanding safety practices of working on high power/high energy lasers
• Knowledge and proficiency on the use of tools for plumbing and electrical wiring
• Table top laser experience
• Coding capability with MATLAB
• U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience working in the short wave IR and mid wave IR lasers
• Proficient with LabView
• Modeling experience with solid state laser systems
• Active DOD Clearance
