Job Description
Under the direction of the global Security, Safety & Sustainability (S3) leadership, this role is a dedicated Asia Pacific (APAC) asset which supports Sony Pictures Entertainment’s physical security & safety throughout the APAC region.
In this role you will provide expert advice as well as the utilization of a range of systems and analytics that will enable the proactive flow of information and project support between core S3 functions, S3 leaders and the region.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the planning, design and delivery of security operations for all SPE events including, but not limited to, film premieres, junkets, press screenings and other public events.
- Managing the region CCTV and access control functions. Supporting the regional and global leadership with crisis incidents, events and investigations.
- Proactively monitor and manage the APAC alert and monitoring system for spontaneous incidents, events that pose a risk to SPE people, properties and events. These systems including Anvil, IJet alerts, International SOS alerts, open source media/social media.
- Assists with intellectual property management. Develops, communicates and directs effective corporate loss prevention strategies ensuring appropriate control levels are in place and verified for major value assets such as IP, consumer goods, trade secrets, etc.
- Conducts audits to ensure physical security & safety, in addition to compliance with applicable corporate standards, policies and procedures.
- Supporting the S3 ‘Assurance Program’ with visits, presentations, inductions across the region as and when required. Ownership of the SPE badge/IDM system including production of badges and managing termination reports.
- Promote that each employee, operating in region, is provided with a safe and healthy working environment by ensuring compliance with corporate and legal health, safety and environmental regulations and adequate training.
- Implement, manage and support SPE’s Environmental Health and Safety legal and corporate compliance programs including, but not limited to ergonomics program, emergency drills, fire safety, first aid, work related incidents, site risk assessments, Sony’s global environmental management program (ISO14001), energy management program, SPE carbon footprint and S3 new-induction program.
- Support SPE’s sustainability programs and goals including local greener world groups and activities, employee grants, earth day events and cause-marketing programs.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Knowledge of:
- Bachelor's Degree with typically 12 years of related working experience in a leadership role
- Knowledge and interest in staying current in world events and global political landscape.
- Current region security & safety issues/contexts/cultural sensitivities
- Demonstrated experience with Physical Security best practice.
- Knowledge and application experience of security information/intelligence/alert systems such as Anvil, International SOS and Everbridge.
- Knowledge of access control and CCTV systems.
- Risk mitigation/threat assessment strategies and procedures
- Health and Safety legislation and policy
- Project management experience
- Environmental and Sustainability programs & best practice.

- Demonstrated influencing and negotiating skills
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills with a ‘hands on’ problem solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents.

- Travel within region (anticipated 20-30% of time)
- Self-starter and ability deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Language skills: English (essential – spoken/written) Other APAC regional languages will be an advantage.
