Finance | San Francisco, California or Remote, United States

If position is eligible for remote employment, it will exclude the following locations: Alaska, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.

Colorado base salary range: $205,000 - $258,400 and eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.

The team
Our Finance team plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimal financial management, and efficient operations across DocuSign. Our team consists of Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Revenue Operations, Investor Relations, and Business Operations. The Finance team partners across all organizations in DocuSign to appropriately allocate resources, inform key business decisions, and facilitate the execution of our operational plans.

This position
The Vice President of Corporate Finance & FP&A will drive strategic priorities with the leadership team, in close partnership with the business, CFO and across the functional finance team. This role oversees Corporate FP&A, finance partnership for our product development and G&A teams, as well as treasury. The VP of Corporate Finance & FP&A will partner closely with leaders across the company to help shape strategies and priorities across the company. This person will lead, grow, and inspire a team of seasoned finance professionals, while working across the broader team to enable and deliver DocuSign’s strategic and financial goals. Responsibilities will include all facets of strategic planning, forecasting and corporate planning including bookings to revenue, short-term forecasting, long term planning, cash flow, capital allocation, while driving thought leadership and best practices. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will be a key member of the CFO leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as strategic, business partner to the CFO and leadership team on a wide range of financial, strategic, operational, and organizational topics. Interface with peers to evaluate and advise on the financial impact of short and long-term strategic and operational plans. Support strategy, process, and analysis for our corporate development efforts. Provide strategic lens and thought leadership for growth opportunities and sustainably scaling the business.
  • Partner with business leaders to drive performance across the business in areas of topline growth and operating leverage. Develop and review financial and operating plans. Evaluate business performance relative to expectations. Provide financial and business decision support and develop and evaluate new growth opportunities. Make recommendations and have a bias to action as appropriate.
  • Partner across the finance and operations teams to ensure an accurate consolidated view, while driving best practices and collaboration.
  • Lead the company’s annual planning and budgeting process, long term plan and overall financial model. Help drive best practices, benchmarking, and frameworks for driving growth at scale.
  • Play lead role in helping refine DocuSign’s capital structure and balance sheet, including priorities, capital allocation, liquidity management and financing. Maintain and enhance our cashflow model and projections.
  • Partner closely with CFO and investor relations on internal and external communications and company positioning. Drive and assist in the quarterly earnings process and preparation.
  • Lead by example in developing, motivating, recruiting, and retaining a highly effective global finance team. Develop and manage a high-performing global team that supports the organization. Inspire change and collaboration among a diverse and distributed team. Encourage the sharing of best practices and insights across all members of the team. Continuously develop and coach the team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ experience in senior finance leadership roles partnering with executives, including direct experience interacting with boards and board committees
  • 10+ years’ experience in finance leadership in a technology software or services industry. Demonstrated analytical skills and knowledge and understanding of subscription business models
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management from a top undergraduate institution, or equivalent experience; MBA, CFA, and/or CPA is a plus

  • Deep subject matter expertise in Corporate FP&A; experience having led the corporate FP&A function for an organization of comparable size, growth profile and complexity
  • Strong collaborator and partner with demonstrated ability to drive cross functional collaboration across business and finance teams at all levels. Desire to challenge the status quo
  • Analytical thinker with honed problem solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to streamline and simplify complexity
  • Extensive network of external relationships that can be leveraged to keep a pulse on the business, industry dynamics, capital markets and access to established and emerging leadership talent
  • Track record of building, leading, and inspiring high-performing teams
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Highly responsible, with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Capable of successfully managing C-level relationships and effectively partnering on financial planning and strategy development and execution
  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills in both formal and informal settings

  • Depending on the candidate's location, must have flexibility to travel, as needed
