Corporate & Investment Banking delivers a comprehensive suite of capital markets, banking, and financial products and services. The Energy & Power (E&P) Group within Corporate and Investment Banking is seeking a first-year Investment Banking Associate to join its Energy team in Houston.

Associates are an integral part of the Investment Banking team. They are directly involved in the design, origination, structuring and execution of advisory and capital markets products and services for existing and prospective clients. This role is suited for a recent graduate from an MBA program or a candidate with one year of investment banking, capital markets, or related experience.

Employees support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional work experience demonstrated through work or military experience

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
