The Energy & Power (E&P) Group within Corporate and Investment Banking is seeking a first-year Investment Banking Analyst to join its Energy team in Houston.

This is the entry level professional position where individuals are part of a formal training/rotational program within the Securities and investment Banking and Capital Markets Divisions and are on a defined "career path" to be Associates. Performs a variety of tasks and begins to get involved directly with client activities.

We provide junior bankers with the ability to work across sub-sectors to deliver a broad experience across all products, and we foster a fun and inclusive culture. Analysts are an integral part of the Investment Banking team. They are directly involved in the design, origination, and structuring of investment banking products and services for existing and prospective clients.

Specific Analyst responsibilities include: creating detailed financial models used for valuation (DCF, LBO, merger plans, accretion/dilution, comparable company and transaction analysis); preparing marketing documents, including pitch materials, confidential offering memoranda, management presentations, fairness opinions and board presentations; and conducting extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

• 1+ year of financial services industry experience; or a BS/BA degree or higher obtained prior to program start date

• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
• Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
• Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
