Sr. Engineering Manager

Job Description

The OpenTable for Restaurants platform is the heart of OpenTable and connects restaurants to our network of over 26 million diners. You’ll be joining a product engineering team that works closely with designers and product managers to build beautiful, scalable and high-value features. We deal with a variety of challenging and rewarding domain areas, offering plenty of opportunities for professional growth (plus lots of opportunities to just geek out). Responsibilities:

• Partner with Product Management, Design, and other Engineering teams.
• Empower the team to execute with high performance by using your experience along with your technical and collaboration skills.
• Deliver on the product roadmap and maintain a healthy codebase.
• Provide servant leadership, give mentorship and tools to make decisions independently that lead to positive outcomes.
• Build a culture of trust and teamwork.
• Strengthen the team's capabilities through the professional development of the current engineers and hiring.
• Take ownership and thrive with autonomy.

What we're looking for:

• You have been a software engineer (probably still consider yourself an engineer), and enjoy being hands-on.
• You practice Servant Leadership and help others unlock their full potential.
• You continually work to improve yourself and those around you.
• You have excellent planning, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Experience in leading a full stack team
• Expertise in .Net or Java and rest APIs
• Experience with Microservices
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD a plus
• Experience with Event Driven Architecture a plus
