Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a QA Test Manager to our location in Renton, WA; Lubbock, TX; Irvine, CA; Santa Rosa, CA; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Anchorage, AK; or Missoula, MT.

We are seeking a QA Test Manager who will be develop, improve, and report the status of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) to senior management, to establish organizational quality assurance standards, and coordinate Quality Assurance activities with QA management, project managers, and portfolio leaders.

The incumbent is responsible for designing, documenting, and maintaining end to end quality assurance processes that are understood, accepted, and executed by the business. The incumbent will work very closely with portfolio leaders, project managers, QA portfolio test manager, QA Manager, Sr. QA Manager, or above to help drive strategic plans to deliver quality assurance methodologies, processes, and services to the IS organization.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Delivers business value through effective test management of two or more medium to large test projects.
  • Provides facilitation, writes complicated test plans, and assists in technical leadership.
  • Delivers business value through effective test management of one or many small test projects.
  • Leads test project sub-teams, identifies, and obtains testing resources as needed.
  • Obtains results that are within established scope, timeline, budget, and quality levels.
  • Provides facilitation, communications, and basic test plans, audits, training, and consulting.
  • Supports and administers existing test management technologies and systems.
  • Supports, improves, and documents existing testing processes, technology, and procedures.
  • Communicates testing methodologies using language and technical details appropriate for audience.
  • Works with manager or other staff to coordinate and schedule the various tasks for successfully analyzing, designing, developing, testing and implementing projects on time and within the defined project budget.
  • Works in a team environment to optimize the test management environment to ensure visibility, scalability, repeatability, and reliability.
  • Ensures that assigned projects meet test management policies and standards.
  • Updates standard reports/metrics that measure output and quality of testing deliverables and KPIs.
  • Coaches and helps resolves issues identified by audit findings.
  • Identifies and uses adequate testing thoroughness and risk-based testing techniques.
  • Actively engaged in promoting, supporting, improving, and documents existing testing processes, technology, and procedures.
  • Teaches quality assurance best practices, tools, processes, and assist in training program training and development.
  • Works with supervisor, manager, or other more senior test managers and engineers to automate tasks which have proven to be standard and repetitive, or where automation may remove variability and recurring human error.
  • Analyzes and tests performance/operational impact of new technologies, processes, and changes to existing systems, and assists in documenting the functional requirements and technical specifications for new solutions.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services, or equivalent education/experience in quality assurance, process, software, engineering, systems administration, or applications development.
  • QA TM = Quality Assurance Test Manager or equivalent education/experience.
  • 5 years experience in a quality assurance related position that had similar primary duties in addition to education requirements.
  • 3 years experience in administration and operation of at least one Test Management technology/system: (HP QC, MTM, Microsoft TFS, JIRA, Rational, Bugzilla, etc.)
  • 2 years experience with one database applicable programming environment: (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.).
  • 3 years demonstrated ability to lead others or manage multiple projects through completion.
  • ISTQB Foundation Level Certified Tester CERT within 90 days of hire.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Current professional or technical certification(s) relevant to role: (ISTQB, PMI, Lean, Six Sigma, Epic, Healthcare certifications, etc.) or equivalent education/experience.
  • Formal education or training in integration, software development, server and application development, administration and optimization: (MCSE, MCSD, MCSA, MCPD, Oracle APEX, Oracle Certified Java – (OCP, OCM, OCE), Web Developer, MTA, AWS Certified Developer, Red Hat RHCJD, Cloudera CCDH - Apache Hadoop, Puppet Lab - Ruby, Scrum CSD, or equivalent) or equivalent education/experience.
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager Certification.
  • Project Management Professional Certification.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • EPIC Certification.
  • Certified Microsoft Professional.
