Providence is calling a Data Analyst Quality Assurance (Medical Staff Services, Days, 1.0 FTE, Full time, Exempt) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
- Support Medical Staff leadership in developing information solutions to observe and support quality, program development, and decision-making processes. Acquires data from primary or secondary sources and maintains data quality. Researches, tracks, and collaborates to resolve key issues or defects impacting reporting integrity. This position requires strong data mining and analytical skills to locate and extract needed data, identify trends, or discrepancies in data, and the ability to research findings for solutions.
- Require ability to work independently, in an organized, self-directed, efficient manner, managing multiple competing priorities. Ability to identify, obtain, and effectively communicate complex data representing performance, utilization, efficacy and volume at the local and regional levels.
- Convert narrative descriptions of programmatic questions into queries (i.e., SQL) to abstract data, from various internal and external sources which may include medical record (Epic), Vantage, Anodyne, Insights, Claims and Accounts Labor & Industries, etc.. Validates data and develops creative ways of presenting the data and conducts interpretative or statistical analysis. The clinical topics are varied and may span the hospital inpatient and/or clinic ambulatory settings of care to include employers, payors, and various community health and wellness entities.
- Develop the construction, maintenance, and management of databases and or data warehouse to record and query information relative to utilization, clinical and functional patient outcomes, individual provider outcomes, compliance, performance analysis, best practice development, and intervention effectiveness. This data will also track and observe downstream revenue and network impact from specific program interventions and activities. Will also track patient navigation, care pathways and care coordination efforts.
- Recurring and ad-hoc report development, and data validation related to monitoring and improving performance on shared savings and risk contracts with payers
- This role is currently focused on querying and displaying clinical data. However, the role will likely evolve over time depending on the needs of the organization and interests of the individual. For example, future areas of work may include free text analysis, statistical analyses, and predictive, and value based modeling
- Tasks:
- Define problems, collects data, establishes facts, draws conclusions and assists with changes in practice.
- Remain responsible for transmission of data to central registry and receipt of comparative monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Assure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of abstracted data.
- Develop and help maintain reporting for Focused and Ongoing review of Providers
- Prepare narrative reports and graphic presentations of the data as scheduled or requested.
- Prepare, maintain and monitor a variety of records, reports, statistics, and files related to the assigned activities.
- Collaborate in development and provides ongoing assessment of quality improvement projects in
- coordination with the designated healthcare team.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science or related field.
- Two (2) years experience in data entry, data visualization, data manipulation and information technology including personal computers, operating systems and application software.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master's Degree
- Experience in programming, data science, healthcare data analysis, clinical experience as a nurse or other healthcare practitioner.
- Experience with EPIC Healthcare Software Suite and associated reporting tools, Microsoft SQL Server, Tableau, and R.
