Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP seeks a Advisory Senior Consultant in New York, NY.

Work You’ll Do

Provide well-reasoned valuations and advice for senior engagement management to review. Perform valuations of business entities, intellectual property, intangible assets, equity and debt instruments, and complex and distressed securities. Perform financial reporting valuation for business combinations, including enterprise values and intangible assets. Perform valuations of goodwill and conduct indefinite and long-lived asset impairment testing for financial reporting purposes. Review valuation analyses performed by junior team members and offshore team and provide recommendations and guidance for improvement. Create financial models based on business issues or transactions being analyzed. Assist in drafting reports and findings including the preparation of tables, exhibits, and charts. Assist upper management with project management activities, including budgeting, scoping, and internal processes. Develop and deliver client presentations and internal presentations for training purposes. Assist with reviews of third-party appraisals for audit support purposes. Will commute within the New York, NY area to consult with client concerning the above job duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
• Eighteen months of business and intangible assets valuation experience.
• Experience must include eighteen months of:
  • Performing and reviewing valuations of business and financial assets/liabilities for tax, management planning, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting purposes;
  • Performing, reviewing, supporting, and analyzing valuations in accordance with FASB and GAAP;
  • Performing and reviewing independent valuation services in accordance with ASC 350, and assessing the reasonableness of the inputs utilized;
  • Performing research and valuations using Bloomberg and Capital IQ;
  • Performing fair value analysis on fixed income, simple capital structure equity, and complex capital structure equity instruments;
  • Performing financial and valuation analysis and economic and industry assessments for clients in the consumer business industry and drafting business valuation reports and findings memoranda;
  • Utilizing generally accepted valuation approaches, including cost market income approach; and
  • Utilizing valuation methods and models, including cash flow method, guideline public company method, relief from royalty method, excess earnings method, multi-period model, and option pricing model.
• Less than 10% travel outside of normal commuting distance.
